Excellent food with healthy options. Friendly service. Good portion size for the price. I got a beef stew, the meat was cooked perfectly. My partner loved the duck curry. Had the get the Vietnamese iced coffee! Definitely one of our favourite lunch spots. Looking forward...to trying more things off the menu :)More

Saigon Corner used to be one of THE best places to eat in Palmerston North. Getting a table, especially on the weekend, was nearly impossible and wait times can often range from 30 to 60 minutes. Unfortunately, with the new owners, everything amazing about this...place has gone. What is left in its place, is basic, generic, tasteless "food". We'd ordered our three favourites - waterfall chicken, pork and prawn noodle soup, and grilled chicken sticky rice. While we weren't expecting the new owners to make it exactly the same as the previous ones, what was served to us was so bad that that we didn't even need to try to compare. The waterfall chicken has lost the 3 distinct flavours that made it special - from the rice, to the chicken, and the salad. What's being plated up now is bland and pathetic. The chicken, which used to be grilled to perfection with a crispy skin and strong taste, is now replaced with a tasteless boiled or steamed product. The sticky rice chicken too, has lost all the flavours, and just like the former, the chicken seem boiled or steamed, rather than grilled. The pork and prawn noodle soup was okay. The flavours were bland, but some people might like it like that. My main issue with it was the fact that the dish was 99% noodles with a sad, almost token serving of pork and prawns. But the saddest thing of all is how the food was made. In the old Saigon Corner, the kitchen was constantly buzzing and it was obvious that a small army of chefs were in there making the food. But now, the food was all microwaved and as a result, just absolutely tasteless and souless. Not going back ... ever.More

After 4 years of not being able to see a friend we met in Palmerston North. We decided to look for something Vietnamese. Two eating places came up and we chose this place because the time suited us. Originally we had planned on take out,...but after entering the premises we decided to eat in. Service was friendly. Atmosphere was welcoming, warm and clean. My friend ordered the twice cooked pork ribs which came with rice and coleslaw. I ordered pork belly Banh Mi and beef Pho. Unlike the Vietnamese restaurants in Australia the bowl of soup, noodles and beef did not come with a plate of bean sprouts, wedge of lemon, Vietnamese basil and fresh chillies. There was a small amount of bean sprouts in the Pho. Other than that I did enjoy my Pho and unfortunately forgot to ask for my Banh Mi to go, but I ate half of it. Very filling with nice coriander and crispy pork belly in it. A plain pork roll would have sufficed. The prices maybe reasonable for eating out in NZ, but definitely more expensive than Australian prices.More

Great spot for lunch or dinner. It was recommended by a friend! Fresh and quality Vietnamese food. The Bahn Mi is delicious! Worth a try if you are in the area!

Been coming here for many years and mostly enjoyed everything I ate. However, would be nice to see some different permanent dishes for a change. Would love a bao bun, banh xeo, bun cha as examples. Also happy to pay a little extra for more...fresh herbs on the Pho and other dishes although prices are getting a little steep for portion sizes already Summer Rolls need a flavor boost too. But don't get me wrong, I enjoy the food here and will continue to visit!More

Overall it's an okay restaurant but a few cons to point out is that It's a bit pricey for the portion sizes that you get. I ordered myself a honey-glazed chicken with rice meal and it was just disrespectful to me as a hungry guy:D...Also, our starters came out after some of our meals and my meal came out so late that the first person was almost finished with theirs. The chicken was overcooked and a bit dry but overall the food was quite tasty. (Had to finish 2 other peoples meals to be full)More

AMAZING flavourful meals. We tried 5 seperate dishes to share family-style and all were delicious!!! Very good price for the quality of food. Most menu items are GF and DF which is fantastic. I liked how they asked if anybody had any allergies they needed...to consider when I ordered. Will definitely return!More

We really enjoyed our meal here yesterday evening. There were a large variety of tastes in the four dishes we chose, and the ingredients were so fresh and appealing. Service was pleasant and the meal was extremely good value. Definitely to be recommended.

The food is yummy and very fast service, ie, food is on your table normally within 10 minutes of ordering. We have been there a dozen times and have not been dissatisfied ever.

I have given this 3 stars because of the long 45-minute wait for my takeaway. I know they are popular & busy but how difficult it is to scoop up some rice & curry ( presumably already made ). No apologies either when I finally...got my order. Maybe a small freebie could help. Maybe this will make owners take notice & improve.More

Clean and fresh, is how I would describe this restaurant. Industrial seating with a few tables. Not a place to stay and soak up the ambiance. However the staff were friendly and quick to deliver. A tantalising menu which is reasonably priced with varied dishes and...delicious generous portions. Pork and prawn summer rolls were generous but lacking in flavour. Coconut duck curry was a mouth full of joy with the taste of lemongrass lingering long after. For a health buzz try the fresh juices. Very refreshing menu and dining experienceMore

Banh mi was fine, but extremely slow service. I was the only person in store with 3 staff prepping garnishes rather than making my order. 10 minutes later my baguette was filled. If you're after a quick sandwich - go to subway.

Got takeaways here tonight with my partner who had the Pho Noodle Soup and I had what was suppose to be a lemongrass beef salad. The lemongrass salad was a handful of coleslaw that could have come from a bag in the supermarket and had...absolutely no lemongrass in it whatsoever, extremely over cooked beef that was just sat on top, and to top it off little to no dressing. My partners pho came with the broth seperate which was to be added on top. Once at the bottom of the meal he found a stack of noodles still all stuck together as if just flipped out of a 2minute noodle packet. I actually added the remainder of his broth to my salad to give it some flavour. We decided to eat here based on positive reviews however, I would not recommend either of these dishes. To finish on a positive, the broth was great and the spring rolls were lovely.More
