Monarch cakes defies expectations: it’s an unapologetic remnant of “old St Kilda” in the midst of a suburb becoming gentrified. Not much has changed here over the decades but thankfully that includes the hundred-year-old recipe for Polish cheesecake. They also make a good coffee.
