I was a little optimistic about trying Indian food because I don’t like hot spicy food but wow this is so damn packed with flavour and you can request not to have it hot. The staff are very helpful with the knowledge of their cuisine and will suggest a dish to your liking, the atmosphere was nice and very reasonably priced for a good hearty meal. Very impressed, we’ll be back again very soon.

Great selection of beautifully made curries and sides that could be adjusted to suit your personal "hotness" preferences and really well priced for the location. Can personally recommend the coconut fish curry and the tandoori chicken entree is actually a meal on its own. Service was prompt, very efficient and very friendly Excellent value for money with generous portion size.

Nicely set on the Seaport is this wonderful Indian Restaurant. Staff are very friendly and accommodating and assist with menu choices depending on how hot you like your food. It is an excellent location to graze over a number of share plates and the food was all hot and fresh.

We frequent Indian restaurants quite often. So we know good food when we see one and this is a good Indian cuisine restaurant. Being next to water, you get the great view of the water. Parking is a bit tricky. We went on Wednesday and there was no parking. Lucky for us, we had a disable parking permit for family, otherwise we would not have attended the dinner. We ordered Daal Tadka, Chicken Tikka Masala, Lamb Shaag, Naan and cumin rice. Even though it is Basmati rice, because they sprinkle cumin power on top of it, they call it Cumin rice. Weird, right? Remember, cumin rice will only serve one person. They do not have any option to order a large bowl of plain rice for some reason. For dessert, we ordered mango and pistachio kulfi. While the price was a bit high for the dishes because of the location, the food was still great. The only issue I had was with a painting. Whomever installed it/hung it, installed it wrong. So now it is a bit tilted. When everything else was symmetrical and perfect, this was the only blemish!

Waiters don’t know what customer service is. We had to go & get them to ask for things. Food wasn’t authentic I had Chicken Tikka Marsala which didn’t taste like Tikka at all. You need to pay for rice & bread seperate I wasn’t happy. How can you go to Indian restaurant & order a meal only to be told you need to order rice which is the main thing to go with curry. It’s like ordering fish & chips & to pay for chips separately.

What I hate is Indian that is just super spicy and tasteless, or not spicy at all. We asked for something past white person hot and what we got was amazing, super tasty and pleasantly spicy. We've since ordered take away from here and it was amazing again. This is a great Indian restaurant

Definitely one of the better Indian restaurants we have visited. On arrival in Launceston we booked a table, which was a good idea as they were very busy the night we dined here. Situated on the waterfront, they are in a great location. We started with samosa chaat and chicken hangover for entrees. Both had great flavours. Mains were Beef Vindaloo and Rogan Josh. We both like plenty of heat in our dishes, and the restaurant accommodated us accordingly. Both dishes packed a real punch, but the flavours still shone through. Very enjoyable meals, with efficient and friendly service. And we weren’t rushed through our meals like in some other restaurants recently. We were given some breathing space between entree and main course. Overall a very good night.

The curries here are not authentic at all. We ordered a chicken jalfrezi and a veg madras. The jalfrezi had carrot in it, and the veg madras has baby corn and carrots in it, which is really odd and the madras, which is supposed to be spicy was the complete opposite- more like a coconut korma. It didn’t even have potatoes. This is the most Western Indian food I have ever had, it is disappointing that they are veering away from authenticity. There is also soy sauce fried rice on the menu which says it all really. When we mentioned the concerns around the veg madras curry to the waitress she just told us that madras is coconut based, which isn’t true, and to try something else next time. We won’t be returning.

Great vegan options, we went for dinner and the waitress knew the menu like the back of her hand. Gave us recommendations that all tasted amazing, service was great and nice atmosphere. Would definitely recommend!

Friends who live in Launceston and have raved about this restaurant met us at Spice Lounge for dinner for a catch up. We visit Launceston once or twice a year and struggle to find a venue that’s value for money. Spice Lounge fits the bill. Well set out and spacious with views over the yacht squadron and then captivated by the twinkling lights of Trevallyn we were met by our waiter. Our friends joined us. Shared entree platters. Exquisite mouthfuls. We chose a fish curry each and our friends a chicken and a beef curry. A glass of wine each to accompany our mains. My partner and I believe that the Spice Lounge has given us our best Indian meal. Bar none. Thanks to our friends for the recommendation and a special thank you to the front of house team (and the chefs out the back!).

We were a family of 4 and were seated very promptly and ordered entrees with along with meal for the kids plus drinks for me and my wife. Entrees were served within 15mins which was good however the rest of our meal took close to an hour to get to our table. When I inquired of why the delay, the response was that since our partial order has been served the rest has been delayed. Happy to give an average review as the kids were happy with the meal and so was the Mrs. Suggest to not visit during busy times unless you have a lot of time on you to wait.

Staying one night in Launceston on tour in a hotel nearby this seemed an obvious choice from the riverfront resturamts offering various cuisines adjacent. food was tasty, delivereed quickly and enjoyable. A selection of locally brewed beers in bottles, wines etc are avaialabe to complement the meal.

My partner and I went on a whim while we were walking, and it was the best decision we've made in a while! Neither of us have had the opportunity to really try any of these dishes, and we went with the lamb madras and almond beef korma for mains with sides of fried rice and garlic naan. It was fantastic! Neither of us have much tolerance for heat, and these were perfect for us. The staff were great too, and accommodated our general cluelessness. I love the ambiance, and I can't wait to visit again!

The atmosphere was nice when we first arrived, nice, cool and quiet. All that quickly changed, extremely hot and loud. Waitress did not smile once or check on our table once dinner was served, did not ask if we wanted further drinks, more water or to refill our bowls are we ordered a banquet…couldn’t finish our entire meal, was not allowed to takeaway any leftovers as it was not allowed if having the banquet for two.. this is not stated in the menu.. very disappointed by the lack of service, the staff all looked unhappy. Very expensive experience.

Spice was crowded so we had to wait for a table. It was worth it. Food was outstanding and reasonably priced. We order Potato and Pea Samosas, Garlic Naan, Rogan Josh with white rice and Prawn Biryani. Everrthing was delicious.
