So not much is open in Launceston on Sunday night. Kaizen is! Previous reviews warned of long wait times and obnoxious wait staff. Quality takes time! I had the mini platter and sake, delicious.

The food is ok. Not much complaining but nothing nice to say either. Just don't order the mini spring rolls. They are really small.

This is an unassuming little restaurant in central Launceston- a hidden gem if you are after genuine Japanese dining. Nice atmosphere, great menu, and really nice friendly service. Visited here as part of a business dinner and we were looked after really well. The food is delicious, fresh and expertly prepared. An excellent drinks list as well. I look forward... More

I found the service very good. The food was great. Wine was OK but very reasonably priced. The restaurant was quite small and not terribly enticing. Except for the sushi platter, the food was more akin to Chinese cuisine, and I found the prices expensive. A sizzling platter priced at $29. The green tea ice cream was nice. Would I... More

The staff here are super friendly and the service is great. The food is delicious - we had the yakitori and the veg noodle stir fry. Fairly generous serving for the stir fry but the yakitori is two small skewers for $10 (absolutely delicious though). All in all I enjoyed the meal but I wish it was a little more... More

Wonderful Japanese food, friendly service, good value wine. Well worth a visit, it is close to the centre of town. Seek it out.
