We loved our dinner here perfect steak!! What more can you ask. We really liked the salad bar and the wine list was great and reasonable priced. The best meal we had in Hobart, we will return

Came here last night because it was highly rated and it didn't disappoint. The porterhouse steak was my favourite as was the pork belly and frozen caramel slice. Yum!

Perfectly cooked calamari, loved the pork and the scallop entrées and it is difficult to find a superlative to describe quite how good the steak was. We felt that the sauces let them down but they really weren't needed. Our broccoli was grey and old and not edible but again it was almost irrelevant as the steak conquered all. We... More

We were staying at the Quest Apartments in Launceston and the Black Cow was conveniently located next door. It had been recommended to us and we thought it was the perfect opportunity to try it out. The steak was beautifully cooked and the veggies were lightly flavoured and cooked to perfection. We couldn't decide between two cuts so ended up... More

Thanks guys! Delicious A must - but plan ahead we were very lucky to get a seat. 3 entrees, 1 main to share and 2 desserts. Even the sides were a cut above any we had tasted (kimchi - yum). The service too was excellent.

This place is AMAZING! So many lovely wonderful things to say about the food and the waiting staff! Really recommend this as a must dinning experience in Tasmania. My boyfriend got the steak and it was worth every penny! He has not stopped talking about how great it was. And this review is coming from a vegetarian who was extremely... More

Had a fantastic meal here, the mains very memorable, rib eye and waygu beef, yep it's pricey but we loved it and will go back on our next visit. Bathrooms very tidy and service was nice but not intrusive.

My husband and I loved this restaurant. It's very unassuming from the outside and th interior is minimalist for sure. It's all about the food and the service. The emphasis is on beef obviously with everything from Waygu rump to cattle raised nearby. We both chose the Scotch fillet cut which is similar to a NY Strip. Delicious! The potato... More

We were looking for a place to eat on a Monday night. No so easy in Launceston, but decided to go up-market rather than down. Good decision. Don't visit if you are a vegetarian, this is a venue for meat eaters. They obviously take their beef seriously and it really shows. That being said, for appetisers, you have non meat... More

Took Mum here the night of her birthday and was so impressed! The food was incredible - perfect steak and accompaniments - really could not say a bad word about any of it! The wine was delicious too! The service was really lovely - not overbearing but very attentive and friendly. Definitely recommend all non-vegetarians visit this wonderful restaurant!!
