This ranks with the finest of steak dinners I have ever had - and that puts it in exactly the same league as Moo Moos on the Gold Coast and the Ball and Chain in Hobart. In fact it was so good it brought back memories from the distant past of a steak at the legendary and long gone Dirty... More

This place is amazing! We had the oysters and octopus noodle salad for entrée and it was amazing! For main we had steak and it was perfect. Our server Maddy was extremely attentive and I would definitely go again!

I have visited Black Cow twice previously and have had nothing but good things to say about it, but it is amazing how a let down in service can really tarnish your meal - even when the food was still spot on. Instances like having tap water poured into our sparkling water, mistakes made with wine ordered and the funniest... More

What a wonderful surprise the evening at Back Cow was. Apart from the authentic Tasmanian cuisine and wines, the most memorable experience was the phenomenal staff. Madi our waitress, was exceptional, her knowledge of the menu and the local ingredients was impressive as was her attention to service. Her wine waiter, was the amazing hipster Dylan, whose knowledge of Tasmanian... More

We were very lucky to get a reservation here during our short stay in Launceston, so first advice would be to book as soon as you can as it's worth the wait! The restaurant is very intimate & cosy without being cramped...great when it's cold outside! Our waiter was efficient & humorous & even found me glasses to wear when... More

Black Cow is good - don't get me wrong. But you wanna charge big city prices, then you better be superb. They're not that good. Sorry.

Fabulous ribeye. Worth every cent paid. Thumbs up for the price and quality. Small restaurant that is packed even on a weekday night.

Second time to Black Cow and still the best steak I have eaten in Australia... yeah, it's not cheap, but it is fantastic and quite frankly that's all that matters. Spend $100 here rather than spend anything at a crappy hotel restaurant. The scallops in broth is awesome - don't hesitate. The steaks? Simply spectacular. I'm still full and I'm... More

My wife won a voucher for top notch restaurant. Being Vegetarian, I was a bit hesitant about Black Cow. Staff were great and modified some menu items for me. We'll be back for sure.
