Eight of us visited here for a friend's birthday meal. Beautiful food, good wine and friendly staff. Would recommend the cheese soufflé and beef wellington! Excellent!

I reviewed this village pub favorably a few years ago, praising the food, ambience, service and (especially) the wonderful Sunday roasts. However, a couple of visits for lunch in the latter half of 2016 were disappointing, with service and food falling short of previous experiences. Today, I'm happy to report that The Wheel is back on track and, once again,... More
Being a regular customer, I could be accused of being biased, but the fact that I am a regular surely suggests that it is just a very, very, very good pub. Dishes such as Schnitzel, Tartiflette, Mussels, pasta with fresh truffles, cold beef sandwiches, Devilled Kidneys, Escargot, Osso Bucco and a fantastic Sunday roast have kept me coming back for... The Wheel is a fantastic pub. The food is always beautifully prepared and the menu is varied. The staff are always pleasant and eager to please. Already looking forward to our next visit.

Early doors on a cold Autumnal Evening - Slow cooked Pork Belly with Dauphinoise Pots and Braised Red Cabbage and a classy glass of Syrah. A dish that perfectly suited the atmopshere; the season; and the mood. Well cooked, well presented, and a hearty portion. This was an honest delivery of super pub food.
