Tasty veggie burger and chips eaten overlooking the beautiful Halfmoon Bay. Very friendly and clean. Recommend this for very good takeaway meal.

Kai Kart is located in a truck. It has indoor seating for about 4 or 5, and outdoor tables with overhead protection in case of rain. We had the blue cod - it was very fresh, and tasted great. They recommend paying cash, although they do accept credit cards (for an added service charge of $2). Tartar sauce/ketchup/mayo are available... More

I didn't get to go to KaiKart last time I was here as it is closed on Monday and Tuesday, so I made the most of it, and I am glad that I did

Lovely sitting at the outdoor tables eating gourmet burgers and chips , such a Kiwi experience. And while waiting for our order chatting to other people from .all over.

Actually, its pretty damn fine any time at all, especially when its cooked by these guys. A highlight - your fish and chips are wrapped in newspaper. Rip a hole in the end and enjoy your fish and chips the old fashioned way (it keeps them hot too). We dined here before heading out and were straight back here when... More

Absolutlely the best chowder I have ever had. Small little stand but great flavour and locals say the menu changes regularly to keep people coming back. An absolute must do in Oban / Half-moon Bay.

Fish seemed very fresh with a tasty batter. One scoop of chips was more than enough for two people, two ducks and a few seagulls hanging around for some free food. A bit more expensive than we were expecting given it was just fish & chips out of newspaper but I guess that's the price in Stewart Island.
