As if one strong coffee wasn’t enough at breakfast, it was a speedy drop-in at Diesoline at the back of The Octagon. This little roaster and cafe offers nothing more than a handful of baked items, but we do understand you can bring your own food. You may want to check on that before you pack a lunch and nab... I get frustrated with rubbish coffee when in unfamiliar surroundings. Not so today. Uber cool decor - belongs in a much more metropolitan city than little old Dunedin. Coffee was very good. Cheerful service. Great pot of tea for my wife. Check it out.

Want good coffee? Go no further. I'm a self confessed coffee snob, I admit it. Coffee here amongst the best coffee I've ever had. They know their stuff

The Coffee is outstanding. A cool place. With cool people. The place is best when it is full of people. Open Fire!

Been here a couple of times and the coffee is adequate but their is very little in the way of food. Interior is so uninviting I probably won't be back: many more interesting, welcoming places with better coffee and food abound in central Dunedin.

Honest straight=up coffee shop right in the middle of town, but an oasis-like hide-away serving excellent coffee with a roaring fire for the odd cold day Dunedin dishes up. Great place for a meeting, surprising who you see there , the Mayor with various citizens of variable repute...

Although down a little side street Deisolinne is very popular. Make sure you get in before the 10 am rush of city workers. Haven't hsd food here.

Just off the octagon in downtown Dunedin, this cafe is tucked in a quiet corner, in a great old building. No frills, just coffees mid-day, great seating (in or outside) and a lovely space. Seriously the best coffee I've had in New Zealand.
