We've had good meals here before, but the meal we had yesterday was really sub-par. We both ordered Drunk Steak medium-rare Medium-rare, but it was cooked almost well done, without a hint of pinkness. The accompanying salad was nothing more than a handful of salad greens in a bowl with no other vegetables, and no dressing at all. The chips... More

This is our second visit to Ferry Ale house and we weren't disappointed a second time - food consistent both times - had Blue Cod and salad - fish fresh moist and large portions. Service excellent with lovely waitress.

The service is excellent , we were checked on frequently, the food however has deteriorated since my last visit, which would have been 12 months ago. This restaurant used to be very busy, but it seems to have lost its appeal, for a Friday night it was very quiet.

Casual Thursday night dinner, wasn't busy, good service but food was average. Seafood chowder was grainy so must have been overheated and split, menu said it had mushrooms and chilli, not one mushroom to be had. Mussels were good but served with a door stop sized piece of bread. Cheesy garlic bread was awesome!

Visited on a Monday for lunch. The establishment overall was pretty quite (to be expected I guess as I say it was a Monday) Staff were friendly, informative, and service was good. The calamari was cooked to perfection, and the crunchy chicken roll was very tasty, served with a fair amount of chips. The prices were normal (what I expected... More

A group of colleagues visited the Ferrymead Speight's Ale House for a quiz and meal. For the meal we chose from a set menu. I chose the Sausage and Mash as main after some very good garlic bread. I had hoped for some good sausages but what arrived where very ordinary cheap sausages (like I used to get for school... More

Friendly staff and really nice food. We went for a quiet lunch, and the wait times were very reasonable.

Overall we were disappointed with the food and particularly the prices for what we got. On arrival there was a strong odour of fish, possibly due the special of the day which was Monkfish. The initial welcome was friendly enough but the service disappeared as soon as we had ordered. A glass of beer was $10, a garlic bread $16... More

Both were big servings all serviced with a great smile buy a very professional waitres. A very enjoyable lunch was had.

I write this review based on two visits in the last month. One for breakfast and one for dinner. Breakfast - Saturday morning. Party of three. Sat at a table, couldn't use a booth as someone would always have to move to let the middle person out. This is an average buffet breakfast. Under $20.00. There were more faults than... More
