I don't get why this restaurant is rated one of the best in Wellington. There's no attention to atmosphere with deafening disco music pounding next to a full-service bar no matter where you sit. We went for our anniversary but left as quickly as we could marf our cold food.

Located at the top of Boulcott St, the restaurant is only 5 mins from Lambton Quay via stairs and lifts through a public car park. Very different to the souless buildings around it, the restaurant oozed warmth as soon as you stepped inside. There is a no booking policy for reservations after 6pm, which we were well aware of, so... More

We were recommended this restaurant by our hotel and really enjoyed it! The restaurant is a unique little house in the middle of a city road which makes it unmissable. The staff were attentive and really friendly. We had the lamb shank and then finished with creme brûlée! Well worth it!

My husband and I came to this restaurant for our wedding anniversary as a treat to ourselves. I had heard good things about this place and always wanted to try this place. You can't make reservations for dinner so we had a 45 minute wait for a table. Thankfully this place had a bar and we had a couple drinks... More

Saved the Boulcott for our final night in Wellington. Seemed busy when we arrived which is a good sign. Met at the door by friendly staff and had a table upstairs, quieter which I like. A comprehensive wine list and good selection including wine by the glass, also a number of craft beers I chose the fish of the day... More

Lovely meal, generous portions and great atmosphere with an extensive wine list. Happily catered for coeliac husband! Not super attentive on service but that added to the relaxed vibe. Good value for money.

I have tried over the years to get in here and finally on a Monday we did. Was stunned at how packed it was, and waiting for 30 minutes for a table . The service was superb. Staff incredibly attentive. We had drinks while waiting then ushered to our table when it was available. I had trouble reading the menu... More

We had a great time with friends at this fabulous restaurant came with our entertainment card. . The food left a lasting impression. We enjoyed soft shell crab ( coming back for that). Lamb, and a delicious chocolate dessert. Great wine, very good service. Couldn't fault it.
