Arrived after the crowds- still made to feel welcome. Frozen yogurt very nice. Worth going to look at the mozaics alone.

We were recommended by the nearby lodge where we stayed and were happy with the choice for lunch. The gardens and art work are very attractive and the food was excellent.

The food was so good here that we came back twice, especially as there are plenty of gluten free options. In addition there are some nice exhibits and an artist's studio to wander around after your meal. Well worth the trip.

L'Arte Cafe is a relaxed and fun place to enjoy a light meal or coffee. We enjoyed a late lunch recently, and the food was tasty and well presented. Dining on the verandah allowed us to take in the scenery including some of the art and sculptures in the gardens. The staff made sure that we felt very welcome. Thanks... More

We new we were onto something when the car parks were all full in this out of the way cafe / gallery. We only had coffee and cake but the cafe was full of diners eating hearty meals, the kitchen was flat out. Coffee was great, cake very tasty and very interesting art works and sculpture gardens.

All the hallmarks of a very well run cafe. Excellent coffee (and I'm a coffee snob), fast coffee service even when very busy, lots of staff, capable and friendly staff, very nice breakfasts, and lovely surroundings. As good now as I've ever seen it, over a number of years.

Visited this wonderful cafe just before christmas. Its a short drive into the country side close to acacia bay. You will need a car to get here. The garden is amazing with mosaic treasures dotted around. I love the mosaic furniture. There is a lovely gift shop which is worth visiting even if you don't want to go to the... More

Heard about this place from a friend, so glad we went! The staff were wonderful and friendly, the food is priced well and there is a great selection. We had breakfast here and the lady who served us was a character with plenty of charisma. It was not super busy when we arrived but it soon started to fill up. The coffee was superb as were our meals. I had the veggie breakfast and my partner the creamy mushrooms. Both meals were well presented and tasted great. No complaints... More

This is the 2nd time I have been here and the 2nd time I have left feeling absolutely satisfied with everything. The French toast with lemon curd and berries is so delicious! Portion sizes are excellent, coffee is excellent and the art is awesome. Highly recommended.

Description
Voted Lonely Planet's No 1 cafe pick for the Central North Island and one of the top 10 places to visit in New Zealand. L'Arte Cafe and Gallery is not to be missed when visiting Taupo. Allow yourself time to experience something very unique and special! A trip to L'Arte is a visual and edible feast and unlike anything you have experienced before. The cafe and gallery are both set in a magical garden, complete with an outside mosaic living room. The food and art at L'Arte's unique destination are both exquisite. Resident ceramic artist Judi Brennan's work is evident everywhere and is sold exclusively from the gallery at L'Arte. L'Arte Cafe serves Allpress coffee, has a wonderful selection of New Zealand wines and beers and the excellent service exceeds all expectations. With New Zealand's finest produce, L'Arte's kitchen team produce everything fresh on-site, from homemade bread to homemade pesto and onion jam. We have also created a small deli so you can take some of L'Arte home with you. L'Arte Cafe, Gallery and Garden is a special holiday experience that will stay with you .........
