Was a nice meal. Very loud and noisey place to eat. Expensive for what it is. But ok. Oyster batter very doughy.

Simple meals with lots of fresh seafood. We had teraki, red cod, scallops and oysters. Fast service and reasonable wines. A good low-medium priced restaurant option for New Plymouth.

Ate at this restaurant last night: my husband & I enjoyed the best fish & chips for a long time - fresh gurnard cooked in crisp yummy batter & wedges thickly cut, fresh salad just how I like it, no onions as requested! Hubbie had coleslaw with his which he also loved. Peter, the owner, was engaging & welcoming. We... More

It's very sad that some potatoes had to be sacrificed for the meal some business colleagues and I had here a while back....BUT the good news is these spuds became chip superstars. The owner of this restaurant promised us we'd be impressed by the fresh cut chips and he wasn't kidding...two years later the ppl present at that dinner get... More

We have dined here many times, although the last time was about a year ago. In the past, we have loved it. Last night four of us had a meal there. One person was totally satisfied. He ordered battered oysters for entree, steak for the main and crumble for dessert. No complaints. Number 2 diner ordered chowder for entree, lemon... More

We walked in without a booking on a Thursday night that saw the restaurant quite busy. It's got smart casual ambience: not fine dining but not a chip shop. On our visit the service was friendly but a little over relaxed but we weren't in a hurry. Most importantly the seafood chowder and fresh Bluff oysters were very good quality.

Hhhmm. Even tho the new owner talked it up, even to the point of bragging, the food standards have dropped. Gourmet coleslaw was a tasteless plop of red and green cabbage and four slivers of snapper in batter do not make @$35 snapper meal with 13 tiny handcut chips. Won't be returning along with others I have spoken to since... More

This is the best seafood restaurant in town by far. Being local it is one of our favorites. In all the years we have visited this restaurant we have never had a bad meal. Good sized portions & very reasonably priced. Decor is a bit average but we dont dine here for that. We travel & eat out regularly so... More

We were intrigued by a Marinovich Fish Restaurant which was said to have been in business since 1927. We arrived in early evening during the week and there was one other couple present. We were greeted and seated at our table upon entry. We decided quickly on the whiting appetizer and the mixed fish platter grilled instead of fried. The... More

Went with a large group and it was really nice. Food was really nice and service attentive. Nice atmosphere and overall a great night out. Was a bit on the pricey side which is the only downside but would definitely go back in the future
