We ate here with some friends, all as tourists to the area. It was busy but the waitress found us a table quickly enough and explained about ordering from the bar. Service at the bar for food and drinks was prompt despite being busy. Food was delicious and came in big portions. Not a big choice if you are vegetarian.... More

Went here for a lunch time snack. We all chose the sea food chowder. The best chowder we've tasted and we all agreed! Good choice and reasonable prices.

I have been with my girlfriend last Sunday. We have been waiting an exaggerated amount of time just to order and to get the food. Food was average, portions big, but taste pretty average. We came back after 3 days, they did not accept us saying that if we do not have a NZ passport we cannot dine. During my... More

My partner and I had a great meal at the Pig and Whistle Historic Pub. The place has a great atmosphere and is always busy and pumping. The food is great - and well priced!

A bad experience. Recommended from the hotel we went there, hungry. We were recommended to eat the lamb. When entering the pub, it's a pub not a restaurant, we had to sit outside in a tent. We had to scream to each other because it was so noisy. Nice staff though. When we got the lamb it was a tiny... More

Another well recommend place to eat. Had to wait over an hour for our food. When it arrived finally looked like it had been throw onto the plate. Curly fries were cold and pork belly was tough and under cooked. Seafood chowder was cold. Ribs were also tough. Our friends had the fish and chips again curly fries were cold... More
