We found this pub while looking for a restaurant to have lunch in. Most of the eateries in Napier at lunchtime seemed to be coffee bars. The pub was very welcoming There was a good range of pub food and beers on tap (much to my husband's delight). We had a nice lunch, of loaded potato wedges, well cooked. and... More

This pub has a pool table which is it's main attraction. It is also open at night. Food is Average to good but service is pretty pathetic. The right owner and staff could do a lot with this place!

Good location. Had lunch one Saturday while in Napier, good range of pub food and good range of beer on tap. Helpful staff spotted and looked after a package I accidentally left behind. Thanks

The Rose is always on our list each time in Napier, great welcoming atmosphere in the heart of the old town. The seafood chowder pie on the menu is a definite treat as well as the coffees, ask for Neridia to make you a truly unforgettable coffee.

We had lunch here during our little holiday in Napier. The Guinness and a lovely house red went down really well: kids had fish and chips for lunch, decent sized portions. Hubby had a tasty hamburger and i had salt and pepper squid, which was tasty and tender. The food wasn't anything exciting, but it wasn't bad either. This is... More

If you love Irish pubs like we do - then this is a must-do for Napier. Awesome and authentic atmosphere with a great selections of beer and food that is not too badly priced - surprising for a tourist destination! The food is not the best we've had but all-in-all, was god with friendly, helpful service.

Just had the seafood chowder pie and feel ill. I could not discern any bit of seafood in it... unless they made chowder and blitzed it into a fine mush and then put pastry around it. Not to my u overly friendly. Got some special nights... Monday and Wednesday is a quiz and food specials and or music on other... More

The food was fantastic, with the Thursday night $20 for a burger and beer deal great value. The lamb shanks were huge and very tasty for only $24! Only reason this wasn't a 5 star was the hour wait we had for food. Would definitely recommend.

The name of this pub aptly describes the decor and style of this pub, which is in the main shopping area, only a couple of streets back from the waterfront. The food is basic pub food but adequate, the service was fast and friendly and the 80's and 90's style live music an extra bonus which is obviously a drawcard... More

Description
A Napier institution right in the heart of Napier has loads of character and is a great place to meet your friends, start your night out or linger over a meal matched with our best range of beers and our fine selection of wines including many local wines. Our menu is a fusion of Kiwi-Irish, well priced and we are well positioned in Hastings Street amongst the major central city shops and hotels, including our own Art Deco Masonic Hotel. The Rose appeals to a broad range of people, young and young at heart, locals and tourists, families, kiwis and international visitors.
