I've been here on my trips to Auckland and buy as many as I can take. Cookietime and others do great cookies, but so does Mrs Higgins. The Brownies are to die for.

The smell of Queen street.

I was back in Auckland for the first time in 10 years, and as I walked along I smelt the familiar smell of this cookie shop. This is THE token smell of queen street to me. The cookies are delicious too and I ate 2 for breakfast on the way to the airport.

The 80-gram packet is not the best. Tastes like flour, microwaved, then dunked in the dam water and flushed down the toilet, then 'baked' underground.

Racist store!

Racist store! I bought some cookies and I paid $11.00 with my Visa card, my Chinese friend also bought cookies came to $11.00 but when he paid with WeChat wallet a 2.5% service fee was charged. WeChat transactions usually have a fee of around 1.3% less than what a shop pays for Visa/MasterCard around which is around 1.8% NZ Banks credit cards and around 2.8% for international Banks cards. This means if I am from the USA, I pay $11 on with my USA bank Visa card (cost Higgins absorbs 2.8% or about $0.31) and if I am from China, I pay $11.28 (Higgins pass on 2.5% or about $0.28 to customer) on WeChat. Racism comes in many forms!

Hi there, I'm terribly sorry to hear that however most NZ retail stores have no control over bank/service fee charges and would be unfair to label any stores that provides alternative payment method. In addition, Mrs Higgins does not absorbs the margin difference as we also get charged by the provider for service fee. Once again we are sorry about your experience.

Freshly Baked Cookies

Mrs Higgins, before you found the place, you already smell the nice aroma baked cookies at Queen Street. Hot baked freshly out from the oven, if you happen to be around this area, do stop by to grab a few. It taste so homey. Love every bite of the cookies fills with chocolate chunk. Is one of the must try when you are in New Zealand. I pass by this place almost everyday in the evening and grab 2 of the cookies before they closed.

Fresh and Delicious

The small store invites you to its nouthwatering smell. My daughter tried the best seller choco chip and she was asking to buy it again. On our way back home to the airport, she insisted that she will bring cookies back home. It has long lines and fine way to fill up your hungry stomach. A must try.

The most amazing cookies I have ever had. Atleast half a mile area around the store has the amazing aroma of frshly baked cookies which just mesmerises you and you just have to go and eat that cookies. You just can't stop yourself . Personal favourite : cookie sultana

Impossible to pass

When it is 7am and everyone is rushing on Queen Street, you are way too late for work any way and super hungry, it is basically Impossible to pass by Mrs Higgins without being lured into the shop by the incredibly tempting smell of fresh cookies. Always worth a stop, best ones are with nuts!

You can smell Mrs Higgins cookies from off the street. They are constantly baking, because when you buy, the cookies are still warm. Great variety of sweets. Staff are good, and this place is always busy.

We stopped in after finding this on trip advisor and it was close to our hotel. We ordered a mint chocolate cookie, fruit and nut, and double chocolate. They were good though not the best we have ever had as we are from the states and Mrs. Fields cookies are fluffy, gooey, warm, and chewy. Mrs. Higgins cookies were flat, cold, and hard. But they did taste good.
