A nice bar which is hidden in a corner. Serves great beer and the food is good as well. Different seating arrangements available such as bar top, table and even on sofa by the fire.

My wife and I enjoyed a delicious dinner in this quaint Irish pub. The service was superb as was the beer and the food.

Great service, fun filled bar, the historic building is worth the stop in for a drink. Didn't get to try the food but it sure looked good.

The bar is very dark and has a cool well in the middle of the floor. The barman was rude asked us what we wanted to drink then buggered off to have a conversation with another barman. We asked for menus which looked like they hadn't been clean in months then we looked for a table. Six tables later we... More

Our accommodation in Auckland was within close walking distance of this venue and recommended by our hotel. We had a drink before dinner. Good atmosphere and a busy local bar scene. Dinner was average and the noise in the venue was so loud we couldn't hear each other speak. My lamb shank was still grisly which was a shame and... More

We (a group of 8) called in for a drink after seeing a matinee show at the Civic Theatre, It was a really nice place to drink and talk. Fascinating piece of Auckland history viewing the old well through a glass plate in the floor.

A nice piece of Auckland history still around. This former horse stable with the water well still in the stable is now one of Aucklands known pubs. A place where the professional suit worker and the hard working yellow vest wearing pros mix and mingle! Good music and lots of choices for drink and not a bad menu as well!... More

I read about The Bluestone Room on trip advisor and thought it sounded okay. It was close to where we were staying and we needed an early night so thought we'd try it. It's a pub with average pub food. The bartender thought he was funny, he wasn't, but Tuesday is comedy night so maybe he was just thinking he'd... More

Hi there! We like "quirky"... also unique, rustic and historical. Can I ask why what about the Cajun Chicken Burger was "average pub food"? and you're right, the hand cut chips are pretty good... just sayin. You are also correct that Melbourne Cup had been on and there were still people watching the races after the main card so it's... More
