A great place for dinner. The lady serving us could not have been more helpful. The food was all good and the wine list extensive. The tartare of lamb as a starter was delicious. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Perth.

Couldn't fault it. Lovely service, top shelf meals that were interesting and different, good wine in a very friendly atmosphere.

Not sure what has happened at this place over the past year or so, but it's gone from a 1 star shellacking by a national restaurant critic, to a shining light of Perth's riverside dining precinct. Used to be: dated, disorganised, downright embarrassing. Now: progressive, professional, bloomin' exciting. The food is on point, the wine is both interesting and challenging,... More

Went for dinner when I was in Perth for work. Perth is full of great food and even better service. I am from Melbourne and I think Perth has a few things to teach Melbourne. The service at Balthazar was probably the best my partner and I have ever had anywhere. The mid 30s male was the right mix of... More

This style of restaurant, you need to like. Active waiters give you a lot of information in a short time. Even stories on beer as if it is wine. Nice! They also recommend dishes, which we liked. Limited choices, which fits the modern style menus. Great food! Clean toilets, excellent location at the new designed harbor.

Balthazar has truly resurrected its self to its former glory. The Chef is on fine form with what is offered on the menu, clever use of great produce with imaginative flare. Fantastic wine list, from small producers which is constantly changing. The service was on the mark. We had a table looking over Elizabeth Quay, which topped off a fabulous... More

Located on the ground floor of the historic sandstone Lawson Apartments- opposite Elizabeth Quay, Balthazar is one of those Perth dining institutions that is worth visiting. The dim lighting makes it feel cozy and intimate. The only discord was the music, some sort of Spanish country & western. The service was great - friendly, knowledgeable and attentive without being intrusive.... More

One of our favorites in Perth. After a few years we were back again in Perth and had to visit Balthazar again; it did not disappoint! The menu is short and simple, but boy is it good food. The girls serving are attentive and friendly without being pushy or intrusive. It's always a bit dark inside, but kinda cosy. Next... More

All the hallowed whispers ring true. This eponymous eatery has a sparse menu which is appreciated when the femme's lemon-pepper, Tabasco "caviar" spooned onto plump oysters, arrives. The opening salvo is a home-run. My pork belly is magically transformed into a cube coated in chilli caramel, paired with wakame salad. The mains follow this winning thread. Beef cheeks, miso-fried wantons... More
