I have lived in Singapore and Hong Kong and have often longed for the sort of elegant Cantonese Yum Cha I remember eating there. Have lived in Sydney and Melbourne since my return and never found anything to match Canton Bay!! The food is fresh the dumplings delicious and pastries puffed to perfection. I wish I could have fitted more... More

When the staff could not tell the difference between "seafood" and "scallop", that shall define your whole experience. Please do not think customers get the better value because of the gigantic size dumplings that is very misleading. Be aware of the content, the dumplings are "seafood puree", instead of giving full real meat of prawns or scallops. Think of it... More

We have been searching for a go-to Chinese restaurant since the closure of Grand Palace several years ago. While this is not quite up to that standard, it is the best Chinese meal we've had in Perth since. Making the booking was efficient, seating was handled professionally, and an ice bucket delivered immediately for the white wine, along with spotless... More

Fresh and delicious. The usual prawn, pork dumplings plus excellent light fried dishes including outstanding radish delicate pastries, prawn and spinach dumplings etc. order from the menu or choose from the carts and serving platters. Good fun, good service, good value. Council car park only steps away.

First, the new name: Canton Bay. Apparently the direct translation from Chinese is actually "Happy Canton". It you go for a Sunday dim sum later than 12 noon, expect to queue out in the street for some time. That's how popular it is. The staff literally trot everywhere too. Being as busy as they are means the food is piping... More

We used to go to Regal on Roe many times and loved the food there. I'm not sure if this Canton Bay is different owners or what but there are obvious changes in side to the restaurant. One think that always sticks in my craw is having to pay for tap water - bloody ridiculous!! Anyway, lunch was pretty good.... More

This restaurant had changed its name to Canton Bay on Roe. Been here a few times under the new name. The food was delicious, the décor was impressive and the service was good. Will go back again.

Love this place it has the best dim sum. Really fresh, plenty of choices, good service and actually quite pleasant decor too. Fortunately you don't have to line up for ages as there are quite a few tables and well planned seating and staff are onto it and organised. Yes this is definitely a favourite for us for dim sum.
