Steaks were amazing - flavour was really goos and perfectly cooked. The sauces and sides were very good too. The house wine was very nice and all in all a pretty reasonable price for a nice meal

My three friends from Shanghai with a passion for steaks asked to be taken to the best steak house. They had a steak over in a Philip Isnd hotel. The steak wasn't bad but not the best. Although, they said the ribs were awesome. As they are all in the hospitality business. Two works for a three star Michelin restaurant.... More

Nice restaurant with good steak. Service upstairs was average - our waitress was distracted and not very attentive. 2 people and only limited alcohol cost us $150

The original Squires Loft and the only one worth visiting (I've been to all others but Torquay and Koh Samui). Consistently great food. Steak, fried onion and garden salad are stand out and always consistent. Ribs are good when charcoaled properly. If you can still fit it, the chocolate lava mud cake is awesome too. Good selection of wines.

Description
The first Squires Loft was opened in 1992 in Church Street Brighton. Our reputation for consistently delivering great steaks and unique flavours led us to a larger store in South Yarra where we are still located today. The success of the Squires Loft formula and demand for Squires Loft branded products led to substantial interest from staff, customers and business owners who wanted to duplicate the business. This has resulted in 15 steakhouse restaurants operating around Australia. These steakhouses are located around Melbourne, Country Victoria, Brisbane, Gold Coast and Western Australia. Further steakhouses are in the pipeline and there is significant interest, which we believe should lead to more Squires Loft steakhouses opening. As a result of this demand and significant recognition of the Squires Loft name, Squires Loft FRANCHISE Pty Ltd has been formed to enable the expansion of the brand.

Staying in Chapel Street

Neighbourhood Profile
Chapel Street
Seek and ye shall find! Prahran is a treasure hunter’s paradise of vintage stores, upscale boutiques and emporiums. Chapel Street is a one-stop shop with specialty stores selling just about everything. The famous Chapel Street Bazaar has so many curious and vintage knick-knacks that you will feel as if you're in a huge and busy museum. By contrast, at the northern end of Chapel Street, South Yarra and Windsor cater to high-end designer labels and exclusive boutiques. The community flocks to Prahran’s organic markets as a Saturday ritual, while art and film students leaf through vinyl LPs on Greville Street. The gay community also has a strong presence here. Prahran’s heritage buildings like the Reads Emporium and Prahan arcade offer a grand sense of scale and history. No matter your interest, come feel the pulse of one of Melbourne’s most loved precincts.
