Arrived next door at Ovolo hotel quite late and ducked into Mrs Parma's which was busy but service was excellent. Meals are delicious but BIG- we 3 girls could have shared one Parma. Recommend it specially if you are staying in Little Burke St.

For international visitors, it would be helpful to explain what this is all about, though the locals seem to know. Even the American waitress working there said she didn't know exactly what a Parma was until she started her job. Service was fine, and food was good. Can get very busy when there is a popular show at the Princess... More

Wow what an amazing portion for Parma!! They serve the chips and salad on the side and if you want more they are there for the taking however we never finished what they gave to us! Full of flavour but wow was I full when I left there. Easy to access in Melbournes Cbd showed up without a reservation and... More

Wow. Wasn't sure what to expect, restaurants we were focused on turned out to be closed on Monday lunch (Zios and Kri Kri). So came across Mrs Parma in little Bourke, up the hill a bit from Kri Kri. Lots of pubs do Parma, so needs to be good. Choices of Parma were, chicken, veal and egg plant. Choice of... More

We went into mrs parmas after the theatre, customer service was terrible we were not made very welcome from when we walked in the door especially from the dreadlocks lady who very rude and felt like she couldn't be bothered. The food was alright nothing special apart from the size of the parmi's which is a big portion. I would... More

If you love a good 'huge' Parma this is the place to go! I had the veal carpricisa parma and it was divine. The Parma is huge in size so getting it finished is hard work but I'm sure it's done by many. It comes with a bowl of salad and chips to share which is more than enough to... More

Great, friendly staff. Very quick service so if you need to make a soccer match on time, this is the place to go. Parma's are worth every single cent, chips were moorish and the salad was delicious! The beers are all Victorian! The atmosphere was very inviting and fun.

My family and I, all adults, go back all the time because we just love the parmas so much. The service is sometimes quite slow but, however, I think it's because they are usually really busy, so I would definitely recommend bookings. My cousin is gluten free and she has no problems finding great options on the seperate gluten free... More

4 of us dined here after a friend recommended. It was 6pm so there were no available tables however the waiter advised if we returned in an hour there would be a table free. We each had a Parma & then chips and salad to share. The parmas were huge and had great flavour, but the chips & salad would've... More

The parmas are of a high quality and always consistent. The only issue I have are with the terrible customer service from the staff that work there. I don't understand why they are the way the are but I will be taking my business elsewhere. If I was the owner of this great place I would be having a word... More

Staying in Chinatown

Neighbourhood Profile
Chinatown
Locals know that Chinatown is the tried and true place to eat before hitting the nightclub scene. The place simply buzzes, and the well-preserved buildings exude a sense of Imperial China stemming from immigration over a century ago. In restaurant after restaurant on Little Bourke Street, you'll find delicious dishes such as sizzling honeyed prawns, and value for your money. Stately matrons oversee family kitchens serving up age-old recipes. The lighting may be unromantic, the patrons loud, and the service no-nonsense, but the food is sensational.
