Got seated up top cause of large group. On a 39 degree day we were sweating it out, no air conditioning? Food came our fast and in big serves. Tasty enough for price. BYO, no ice to put in wine so bring chilled!

Maybe we ordered the wrong items but the pan fried dumplings, won ton noodle soup were not very good at all. No love in the food at all. The spicy wontons were pretty good. Would def recommend venturing elsewhere.

In Melbourne for a holiday and a must do is a dining visit to the Chinatown area. We wandered along and as dumplings were high on the kids preference list we ventured in. It was hugely busy and we were seated in the overflow area...More

We visited Chinatown and Shanghai Village is a great cheap place for good food. It gets a little noisy and the service is ok but not great however we ate a full meal with drinks for sixty two dollars, hard to beat that!

This place was fairly busy so we knew it would be good. The food was very tasty- full of flavour. The restaurant itself was quite dirty & there wasn't enough wait staff. We got 2 main means which were around $18 each. They were just...More

Stock standard Chinese. Not that there’s anything wrong with that. The space is dark and plainly fitted out and furnished. Nothing notable about it except that it has a very traditional looking street entrance. No issue with these things if you’re just here for a...More

Lunch for two included Rice, Dumplings and Spring Rolls, add a can of drink and bottomless tea for $23, great value. It is noisy and even a bit grubby, but the food is good. Don't judge a book by it's cover, this place is always...More

Have visited this restaurant three times now. The first time, a year ago,it was tolerable. Visited a few months ago and it was very ordinary. Visited this place tonight and it was total rubbish, prompting this review. Everything is greasy and dirty. Service is fast,...More

Locals know that Chinatown is the tried and true place
to eat before hitting the nightclub scene. The place
simply buzzes, and the well-preserved buildings exude
a sense of Imperial China stemming from immigration

Little Bourke Street, you'll find delicious dishes
such as sizzling honeyed prawns, and value for your
money. Stately matrons oversee family kitchens serving

Umm I don't think so. You don't go there for things like that. You go there for dirty dumplings that taste delicious while trying not to think about what's really in them.

Not a lot of gluten free options here. Possibly some of the meat and rice dishes. Probably safer going Vietnamese.
