Simply stunning. The service is impeccable. The decor warm and cosy. The food is on another level. It's a journey, so I suggest the whole 9 yards or 8 courses with wine matching to really understand the man behind this gem.

What a lovely meal - the staff were attentive, organised - it was one of those experiences where you just sit and relax, nothing feels too hard, everything comes out quickly and with ease - it was nice to be truly looked after.

Upon arrival from the Melbourne Airport noontime, we have not reserved for lunch. Since the trip was more of a Foodie Artsy Experience, we have decided to dine at a George Calombaris restaurant, The Press Club. We were welcomed by a tacky curtain, then was...More

From the moment you enter this intimate space and are greeted by one of the delightful staff, you know you're in for a memorable evening. Coats taken at reception, moody lighting, dark mirrors and curvaceous banquettes set the scene. The service is confident and assured,...More

Enjoyed the Express Lunch which was 3 courses and a glass of wine for $55pp. Service was spot on and the food was delicious. Looking forward to coming back.

We make a point of booking degustations wherever we travel, and this ranks as second only to the extraordinary Sepia (in Sydney) in this country, with a lot of very prominent restaurants below it in our ratings. All the elements were here - service amazing,...More

Full of discovery and delight, Melbourne’s laneways

throbbing with conversation and espresso coffee. You
never quite know what you’ll find around the next

even vats of simmering organic soup. There is the air

Description
George Calombaris' flagship Melbourne restaurant for MAdE Establishment has cemented itself on the global dining scene with its unique Modern Greek cuisine. In October 2006, the four directors joined together to form MAdE Establishment, and opened their first venue, The Press Club Restaurant and Bar. This began a new era for George Calombaris and cemented his place as a culinary star for his Modern Greek Cuisine - never seen before Melbourne; where modern twists to traditional Greek cuisine has put this restaurant on the global map and has diner's wanting more. The Press Club seats 38 guests in individual booths. Next door to The Press Club at 52 Flinders Street, is Press Club - Projects, George Calombaris' creative and development kitchen. This space can be booked privately for up to 8 guests and offers a completely interactive experience as the chefs experiment with new dishes to make the menu in The Press Club.
