Travelled 3 and a half thousand miles to go to this “fine dining” taken to the extreme I have to say. Food was average, portions extremely small, we went for the 5 portions, I mean, George what are you thinking, serving up 1 prawn in...More

We booked online from the UK some months in advance as we have watched Masterchef Australia for years on channel W. They did ask for credit card details, the other 4 restaurants we booked in Sydney and Melbourne did not. So our expectations were very...More

We love the Press Club and have been there several times. So we decided we wanted our 14 and 12 year grandchildren to experience something out of the box. But something has happened! The staff are still amazing and attentive, the atmosphere good and we...More

We had a wonderful meal - octopus, rack of lamb cooked perfectly and some very attentive waiters but the decor and ambiance aren’t quite right. The loud pop music did nothing to set the scene. The seating is a cross between a US diner and...More

Everything about The Press Club was made to feel like an experience that was so much more than just being a nice meal at a nice restaurant. From the get-go, service was on point - it was professional and engaged, without being pretentious or obtrusive....More

Although a wedding anniversary is an annual event, we often missed the opportunity to celebrate it given our busy lives, interstate work commitments and the need to ferry children around on certain nights. So when we realised we actually had the day free – and...More

When we arrived, we were made very welcome by Terry. The staff hovered about efficiently and non obtrusively. Our booth looked onto the kitchen where we saw george tasting, testing and talking to his staff. There are only 10 booths in the restaurant, so it...More

Full of discovery and delight, Melbourne’s laneways
tease the imagination long after you’ve put your weary
feet up to rest. They weave through the heart of the
city: cafes, bars, restaurants and boutiques,
throbbing with conversation and espresso coffee. You
never quite know what you’ll find around the next
corner: cobblestone alleys, old beer barrel hoists and
even vats of simmering organic soup. There is the air

George Calombaris' flagship Melbourne restaurant for MAdE Establishment has cemented itself on the global dining scene with its unique Modern Greek cuisine. In October 2006, the four directors joined together to form MAdE Establishment, and opened their first venue, The Press Club Restaurant and Bar. This began a new era for George Calombaris and cemented his place as a culinary star for his Modern Greek Cuisine - never seen before Melbourne; where modern twists to traditional Greek cuisine has put this restaurant on the global map and has diner's wanting more. The Press Club seats 38 guests in individual booths. Next door to The Press Club at 52 Flinders Street, is Press Club - Projects, George Calombaris' creative and development kitchen. This space can be booked privately for up to 8 guests and offers a completely interactive experience as the chefs experiment with new dishes to make the menu in The Press Club.
