We had high expectations and the food and service did not disappoint. The food was delicious and such a creative take on modern Greek and Australian food. We were overwhelmed by the number of courses presented to us during our meal. They also accommodated my...More

We had a lovely waiter who was professional and attentive. And the tasting menu was a lovely modern take on Greek classics but the serving size is ridiculously small. The main two issues - no atmosphere - and even though we were halfway through dessert...More

I have been fortunate enough to eat at many fine dining restaurants internationally and this one quite frankly underwhelms. The decor is nice, but we were put in the booth opposite the door and despite the curtaining froze everytime someone entered and exited the restaurant...More

Not outrageously expensive, but nevertheless it is special occasion restaurant. Champagne by the glass, Le Brun De Neuville is worth of a special mention, with refined tastes of apple and pear, influenced by a musky lees. In short this was delicious. We had the six-course...More

Lovely environment and skilled staff. A real treat to meet the chefs in the kitchen, very impressive team. Some courses were very tasty. Others, wallaby and a chocolate mousse type dish were unpleasant. Degustation or just an expensive tasty plate spread over two hours? Left...More

Managed to book a last-minute solo table during a business trip and decided on the 8-course kerasama degustation menu. The general feel of the venue doesn't disappoint, gold-adorned ceiling and leather couches scream up-market opulence. An intimate venue means excellent service, although conversations from adjoining...More

Full of discovery and delight, Melbourne’s laneways

throbbing with conversation and espresso coffee. You
never quite know what you’ll find around the next
corner: cobblestone alleys, old beer barrel hoists and
even vats of simmering organic soup. There is the air

Description
George Calombaris' flagship Melbourne restaurant for MAdE Establishment has cemented itself on the global dining scene with its unique Modern Greek cuisine. In October 2006, the four directors joined together to form MAdE Establishment, and opened their first venue, The Press Club Restaurant and Bar. This began a new era for George Calombaris and cemented his place as a culinary star for his Modern Greek Cuisine - never seen before Melbourne; where modern twists to traditional Greek cuisine has put this restaurant on the global map and has diner's wanting more. The Press Club seats 38 guests in individual booths. Next door to The Press Club at 52 Flinders Street, is Press Club - Projects, George Calombaris' creative and development kitchen. This space can be booked privately for up to 8 guests and offers a completely interactive experience as the chefs experiment with new dishes to make the menu in The Press Club.
