Sensational view and exceptional service! . I could shower this place with praise and indeed it deserves it. Very high end feel , yet able to retain a relaxed and egalitarian atmosphere. Choice of wines well thought out and reasonably priced considering the environment. Loved it .

Vue de Monde must be rated a 5 because its prices demand that level of performance every time, without exception. Sadly it fell short by 5 orders of magnitude. Compared with McDonalds its a 5 but compared with what it should achieve it was less than one on this last visit. This restaurant has been a mainstay for my visits... More

I was lucky and a supplier of mine paid for me to have lunch here. This place is amazing and I highly recommend it to anyone who has a significant amount of money to spend on a very special occasion. The food is amazing and they cater very well to food intolerances, allergies and requirements. I ate things at this... More

surprised by "all the fuss" people made of this place, food very average to poor, tiny portions but huge price, bland ambience, and most surprising, poor service and a rude maitre'd. Honestly, would never suggest this place to anyone.

Arrived with 4 couples and escorted through the wine cellar…which was amazing. Then the view…..Wow!!!! million dollar view. Stunning. We were seated at the chefs table, which i thought would be private and quieter. It wasn't . The waiter was well mannered and courteous. Asked if we wanted still or sparkling water. We had our first dish come out which... More

I'd tried to get in here a few times but this time I was lucky. And it was worth it! Amazing food - lovely wine! Great services - fabulous views. Incredible design of the restaurant itself. Everything people say about it is true! Can't wait to go again!

I had been looking forward to dining at what had been heralded as the best restaurant in Melbourne for about a year now. The time to dine finally came last night where we were greeted by fantastic staff and service and treated to a great dining experience of a 10 course degustation dinner. After 3-4 hours of dining and a... More

Staying in Central Business District

Neighbourhood Profile
Central Business District
Full of discovery and delight, Melbourne’s laneways tease the imagination long after you’ve put your weary feet up to rest. They weave through the heart of the city: cafes, bars, restaurants and boutiques, throbbing with conversation and espresso coffee. You never quite know what you’ll find around the next corner: cobblestone alleys, old beer barrel hoists and even vats of simmering organic soup. There is the air of Berlin in the street art, a touch of Paris in the umbrella-shaded cafes and, reminiscent of Rome, eateries tucked away in the most unlikely of places. Perhaps you might want a break and cross the Yarra River to Southbank - walk along the promenade, bask in the sun at a waterside bar and decide whether to go to the nearby casino or book a ticket at the Melbourne theatre company.
