Excellent, inventive fusion food. Great service while sitting at the bar with full description of each dish as it was served. Worth every penny. Recommended.

Consistent quality and service. Smaller sharing plates are the winners. Peanut butter parfait is delicious and a must. Great atmosphere. Bigger than average tables and enough space in between other diners - even for groups of 2, which is a rarity nowadays! Could do with...More

In an area where there are so many great restaurants, Coda stands out. Food, service and wine list are all fantastic. Definitely put it on the list for a top flight dining experience.

Service is excellent. Food was good but for the price it lacked flavour and a wow factor. Wine list is also expensive, avg $80 a bottle. Over all so many other places with better value for money.

My wife and I were alerted to this restaurant by our 'walking tour of the city' guide who said "...but you'll never be able to get a reservation...". That evening we met friends who are locals and she had secured our dinner reservations there. We...More

This is not the place for a quite dinner with convivial conversation. It is vibrant (read noisy) place, filled with energetic conversation interspersed with raucous laughter, without a hint of consideration for neighboring tables who are less inclined for screaming matches. This was my first...More

Popped in for a quick dinner. The server suggested the duck curry with roti and rice. The curry was nice and spicy. However the roti too firm almost like a biscuit. With $7 for the rice the dish was rather expensive at $37

Full of discovery and delight, Melbourne’s laneways
tease the imagination long after you’ve put your weary
feet up to rest. They weave through the heart of the
city: cafes, bars, restaurants and boutiques,
throbbing with conversation and espresso coffee. You
never quite know what you’ll find around the next
corner: cobblestone alleys, old beer barrel hoists and
even vats of simmering organic soup. There is the air

Trendy. It's a smart place but casual. Not dressy but trendy. Some of this will depend on your age. I went with my two sons 37 and 40. I wore a jacket with jeans but then I'm a little older. Not sure if this helps at all... More

I had no problem with the way the food looked, so a photo wouldn't help. It was very well presented. It was the way the flavours worked ... or more disappointingly, didn't. But then again, I am often disappointed by... More

Upon opening our doors in 2009, we were thrilled to receive the The Age Good Food Guide's 'HatAward' and have maintained it ever since. Complementing these achievements, we are very proud of Head Sommelier, Travis Howe, who not only won Sommelier of the Year but also picked up the 2013 Wine List of the Year. Nestled in one of Melbourne's iconic laneways (basement Oliver Lane, and Flinders Lane), Coda is located in the busiest and most dynamic culinary precinct the city has to offer. A stone's throw away from the Yarra River, Flinders Street station and Federation Square, the restaurant enjoys hosting a diverse group of diners from frequenting locals who live and work on its doorstep to diners from all over the globe. Upon entering the restaurant you will be greeted by a member of our friendly team headed by Mykal and Kate Bartholomew and Executive Chef Adam D'Sylva. The trio has assembled a dedicated team with highly sought-after experience from many international and Melbourne-based restaurants. Coda's relaxed environment provides a versatile setting for a range of engagements. Whatever your occasion - from a quick pre-football meal, to a long Sunday lunch, business dining or a cosy seat for an anniversary - we look forward to your visit. While bookings are highly recommended, patrons without a reservation can enjoy the full menu at the bar.
