This is a real treat if you love Asian fusion food. The shared entrees are all great and it really doesn't matter which dish you choose, they are all good. The vege curry is outstanding and the ribs were brilliantly cooked. Definitely book ahead as...More

Perched at a bar on a stool with a pretentious menu, a few spicy dishes, a bottle of wine, $200 for two and still hungry. So many options in Melbourne, why did I choose this one?

It was difficult to choose dishes as all looked so good. Standouts were the Crispy tapioca and prawn betel leaf with kaffir lime and green chilli and Duck larb with cashews, sour pear and Vietnamese rice cracker. Sides were also very good. Everything freshly prepared....More

The food was really delicious - it was delicate, flavourful and so satisfying. Special mention for the barramundi with jungle aromats which was so, so good! Will definitely return the next time we're in Melboune again.

We found Coda quite by accident and it turned out to be a fabulous accident. We chose to wait for a spot at the bar as they were booked out. The girl who greeted us at the door was exceptional. Not only was she friendly...More

Full of discovery and delight, Melbourne’s laneways
tease the imagination long after you’ve put your weary
feet up to rest. They weave through the heart of the
city: cafes, bars, restaurants and boutiques,
throbbing with conversation and espresso coffee. You
never quite know what you’ll find around the next
corner: cobblestone alleys, old beer barrel hoists and
even vats of simmering organic soup. There is the air

Trendy. It's a smart place but casual. Not dressy but trendy. Some of this will depend on your age. I went with my two sons 37 and 40. I wore a jacket with jeans but then I'm a little older. Not sure if this helps at all... More
I find your review very hard to believe. Did you by any chance take any pictures of this terrible food with that phone you used for your first review on TripAdvisor?

I had no problem with the way the food looked, so a photo wouldn't help. It was very well presented. It was the way the flavours worked ... or more disappointingly, didn't. But then again, I am often disappointed by... More

Upon opening our doors in 2009, we were thrilled to receive the The Age Good Food Guide's 'HatAward' and have maintained it ever since. Complementing these achievements, we are very proud of Head Sommelier, Travis Howe, who not only won Sommelier of the Year but also picked up the 2013 Wine List of the Year. Nestled in one of Melbourne's iconic laneways (basement Oliver Lane, and Flinders Lane), Coda is located in the busiest and most dynamic culinary precinct the city has to offer. A stone's throw away from the Yarra River, Flinders Street station and Federation Square, the restaurant enjoys hosting a diverse group of diners from frequenting locals who live and work on its doorstep to diners from all over the globe. Upon entering the restaurant you will be greeted by a member of our friendly team headed by Mykal and Kate Bartholomew and Executive Chef Adam D'Sylva. The trio has assembled a dedicated team with highly sought-after experience from many international and Melbourne-based restaurants. Coda's relaxed environment provides a versatile setting for a range of engagements. Whatever your occasion - from a quick pre-football meal, to a long Sunday lunch, business dining or a cosy seat for an anniversary - we look forward to your visit. While bookings are highly recommended, patrons without a reservation can enjoy the full menu at the bar.
