Coda continues to set high standards in food and service and this visit did not disappoint. The food is innovative, tasty and well presented. The place also has a good atmosphere and provides a great dining experience.

Was recommended to this place from a friend and decided to take some work colleagues for dinner. Left the meal up to the head waiter and the wine up to the sommelier and we were utterly impressed. Highlight was the scallops with a close second...More

Friday evening, quick bite before a show. Staff were great & accommodated us and our limited time. Restaurant has a nice feel. Yellow tuna dish nice but not mind blowing. Diamond Clam dish was very salty for our taste. Coda slaw didn't excite us either....More

My wife and I have been to some of Melbourne's big restaurants in recent times, but this spot - hidden in classically Melbourne-ish fashion underground and down a laneway - is one of the absolute best. We love Tonka (same owners I believe), but there...More

My first day in Melbourne, I went to Coda for dinner. It was a lovely experience. The service was slow at times but I guess they were being engaging with other guests, which is behaviour that I can excuse. Food was top notch. The burrata,...More

Love the food, but found it to be sooo noisey. Go later if you go early it's to busy gets quiet after 8 pm but food is worth it.

Three of us dined here for dinner recently and all were amazed at the incredible food. Service was great too. The place is very noisy so we were glad to be seated at a table to the left as you enter the restaurant and this...More

Full of discovery and delight, Melbourne’s laneways
tease the imagination long after you’ve put your weary
feet up to rest. They weave through the heart of the
city: cafes, bars, restaurants and boutiques,
throbbing with conversation and espresso coffee. You
never quite know what you’ll find around the next
corner: cobblestone alleys, old beer barrel hoists and
even vats of simmering organic soup. There is the air

Trendy. It's a smart place but casual. Not dressy but trendy. Some of this will depend on your age. I went with my two sons 37 and 40. I wore a jacket with jeans but then I'm a little older. Not sure if this helps at all... More

I had no problem with the way the food looked, so a photo wouldn't help. It was very well presented. It was the way the flavours worked ... or more disappointingly, didn't. But then again, I am often disappointed by... More

Upon opening our doors in 2009, we were thrilled to receive the The Age Good Food Guide's 'HatAward' and have maintained it ever since. Complementing these achievements, we are very proud of Head Sommelier, Travis Howe, who not only won Sommelier of the Year but also picked up the 2013 Wine List of the Year. Nestled in one of Melbourne's iconic laneways (basement Oliver Lane, and Flinders Lane), Coda is located in the busiest and most dynamic culinary precinct the city has to offer. A stone's throw away from the Yarra River, Flinders Street station and Federation Square, the restaurant enjoys hosting a diverse group of diners from frequenting locals who live and work on its doorstep to diners from all over the globe. Upon entering the restaurant you will be greeted by a member of our friendly team headed by Mykal and Kate Bartholomew and Executive Chef Adam D'Sylva. The trio has assembled a dedicated team with highly sought-after experience from many international and Melbourne-based restaurants. Coda's relaxed environment provides a versatile setting for a range of engagements. Whatever your occasion - from a quick pre-football meal, to a long Sunday lunch, business dining or a cosy seat for an anniversary - we look forward to your visit. While bookings are highly recommended, patrons without a reservation can enjoy the full menu at the bar.
