I tasted Satay of beef and lamb and then a lamb's curry. Satay brochettes were well cooked and served with a fat sauce of peanuts. Probably acidity and spicy were missing. Lamb curry was a big plate with three pieces of lambs bones. Fortunatly I had my knife to cut the meat, uneasy to eat. The sauce had a common... More

We had a group booking for about 18 people, the banquet was fantastic, the service was first class and the price was very reasonable, I can see why they have won best restaurant so many times. Thoroughly recommended

We had a delightful meal here. Just be warned that although something says it's mildly hot - it's not by Western standards. "It won't make you sweat" was their answer to mild. My mild salmon was anything but mild, but having said that, the staff allowed me to order again without charge.

Three couples meeting for an evening meal. We chatted all the way before and after the meal - meaning the restaurant was not to noisy to hold a meaningful discourse. The food was excellent and full of flavour - when we asked if it could be hot(spice hot) it was, and so was enjoyable. This is an excellent place to... More

Tasting the flavours of Melbourne we were recommended to have a wander down the infamous Lygon Street with its many cafes and restaurants. The street is very busy and has a lively hustle and bustle atmosphere. There are lots of waiters standing outside the window fronts trying to sell their menu's to whoever passes. However, we decided to try the... More

Meals came out haphazardly and mine was forgotten. I had to ask twice, then they finally cooked and served it, just as the rest of the table were finishing theirs. Very poor show and barely an apology.

Okay, haven't been there for a while, so went by after Christmas for dinner. The place still looks great and prominant from the street, however their well known Thai warm smiles are no longer ..... also, they used to have linens on their tables, no more. On the food side, it has gone downhill too. No distinct and stand out... More

Our group of 3 didn't eat much as we were there for more of a snack. In saying that we had a couple of appetisers and a couple of mains between us. While waiting I enjoyed looking at all the decorative detail in the dining room and we had a window table so good people watching. The flaky, green curry... More

I went to this restaurant with colleagues. We arrived around 5.30pm, which I guess is a little early for some Melbourne establishments. The sign on the floor indicated that this restaurant was open, but staff were clearly annoyed when we went in. We were the first customers for dinner. We ordered our food and drinks, both came quickly. I ordered... More

A birthday celebration made enjoyable and delightful by the delicious food, efficient and friendly staff and lovely ambiance. The thoughtful manager who ensured our comfort was a priority is to be commended. We had a wonderful night.

Staying in Lygon Street

Neighbourhood Profile
Lygon Street
If you want real parmesan, cut from the block, grated over your pasta with a twist of style, this is the place. Until recently, this neighbourhood was home to the notorious ‘Carlton Crew,’ a pseudo mafia who started their day with a local espresso. They are gone, but the espresso still runs strong in this Little Italy which has something for everyone. Starched white tablecloths, candles, pizza the way they do it "back home" and maybe even a bit of amore. The number of gelato choices will leave you in a state of indecision and wide footpaths, big awnings and a sea of packed tables makes this al fresco dining experience a continental buzz. Even if you’re not eating, it’s worth the stroll just for the people-watching, which, of course, is an Italian tradition.
