Great quality beautifully cooked pasta. Servings are a nice size for lunch and great service. Nice place to sit on the sidewalk and watch the world go by.

Good French bistro with a great breakfast. Omelette with bacon and avocado was amazing. It hits the spot. Bread was what you'd expect in France. Good crust that's crispy yet soft. This is a gem for breakfast.

Grossi Florentino has at its' Bourke Street location a grill, a more formal upstairs restaurant, and a cellar bar. I and friends ate at the grill located on the ground floor. This Italian eatery is hugely popular. The menu is sophisticated, and elegantly presented, albeit with casual friendly service. My dinner started with a duck liver pate, and in lieu... More

Had the pleasure of dining here for my birthday on a Thursday Lunch. Great atmosphere and the wait staff were knowledgeable and friendly. Started with a couple of small dishes to share, The mussels were well seasoned and the octopus cooked just right. For the main I had the tripe special which was cooked well and extremely rich and my... More

Four of us went to Melbourne for a Birthday celebration and the birthday girl wanted to go to Grossi Florentino. From the moment we walked in we were warmly welcomed like we were returning customers and throughout the night we were made to feel like part of the family. Service was impeccable and I would honestly rate the staff 15... More

Great Italian starters certainly set the bar. The main dish however was not quite up to the same standard. This was all OK, except for the service. We were waited on, by who I can only imagine was the maitre d'. They really let the evening down unfortunately.

A great restaurant to taste and enjoy beautiful Italian cuisine. It is also a great place to take interstate visitors wishing to enjoy an authentic Melbourne dining experience. The food, service and atmosphere are a mainstay of this restaurant and didn't disappoint. Beautiful pasta dishes and an excellent wild boar risotto were standouts. Tiramisu to finish is quite traditional.

What an amazing experience! My fiancé and I dined at the Grill and partook in their lovely set lunch menu which was amazing value for money. Every course was exquisite (simple traditional Italian flavours) and the service was impeccable. We were absolutely blown away, definitely the high light of our trip.

Service was nice. Went with interstate friends and were embarrassed by the poor food and having to share the very large bill. We didn't complain as it would have spoiled the evening. Barely warm on cold plates and not one of the six savoury courses was good. The chocolate soufflé was amazingly good.

Staying in Central Business District

Neighbourhood Profile
Central Business District
Full of discovery and delight, Melbourne’s laneways tease the imagination long after you’ve put your weary feet up to rest. They weave through the heart of the city: cafes, bars, restaurants and boutiques, throbbing with conversation and espresso coffee. You never quite know what you’ll find around the next corner: cobblestone alleys, old beer barrel hoists and even vats of simmering organic soup. There is the air of Berlin in the street art, a touch of Paris in the umbrella-shaded cafes and, reminiscent of Rome, eateries tucked away in the most unlikely of places. Perhaps you might want a break and cross the Yarra River to Southbank - walk along the promenade, bask in the sun at a waterside bar and decide whether to go to the nearby casino or book a ticket at the Melbourne theatre company.
