Despite being 30 minutes late for our reservation due to issues in the nearby parking structure, our host and professional wait staff were polite, warm and welcoming. Our table was well positioned, lighting gentle and the acoustics were comfortable. We selected a la cart, shared a bottle of Victorian cabernet sauvignon to enhance our exceptional dining experience. Two Hats did... More

The ambience of the restaurant is good and the service staff very attentive and friendly. My wife and I had the three course menu. The sourdough bread with the three accompaniments were decent. Quite the wait for our first course, I had Pork belly which was very good and a decent sized serving. My wife had the quail roll which... More

Our party of three recently celebrated a special occasion by dining for lunch. Each chose the tasting menu (one vegetarian). Others reviewers have commented on the quality of the food, the restaurant ambience, attentive water service and I can confirm that we enjoyed all these aspects during our lunch. However, there was one poor experience. This was a large shard... More

With two family friends I dined at Ezard last week. Service was good and the meals whilst quite small were GREAT! Because the meals are small more than one course is required if you are hungry or a big eater! Each of us had 3 courses plus some sides so the cost was not low! Very central City location being... Been going to Ezard for about 6-7 years now for 'special occasion' dinners and it never disappoints. Friday nights dinner was no exception - sensational food, exceptional service and a great sommelier who matched our meals perfectly to wines I'd never have chosen.

The highlight of Ezard is the setting for me. Sitting below street level, with mood lighting, and not so noisy, it's a beautiful spot to eat. It's quite pricey for what you get, but the dishes are all executed perfectly and the service is professional. I went there for an anniversary, and they had taken the initiative to write Happy... Having been to Ezard in the past I was looking forward to dining there. The space has not changed much of the last couple of years and is inviting. We opted for the 8 course degustation dining option @ $165 per head, as I always enjoy a moving feast of multiple flavors and textures. The food itself did not disappoint......the... More

Nearly all savoury courses were flavoured strongly with vinegar. The pork and duck was cooked very well. The apple pre dessert was tlo sour.... the chocolate was okay. Tasty but nothing to brag. Coffee was good however and service was average. Wouldnt make the trip back...

I go to ezard nearly every time we visit melbourne. It is just so consistent with excellent service and quality food . Highly recommended. Maybe just needs a refurbishment. Starting to look a bit tired

I still look forward to eating at Ezard. It is always good. Service. Cuisine wine. Staff. Read the reviews that say ezard is good. Then take the journey. If u haven't experienced fantastic service before, after ezard you will expect it whenever u dine out and will be wanting it. We recommend Ezard. Do yourself a favour.

Staying in Central Business District

Neighbourhood Profile
Central Business District
Full of discovery and delight, Melbourne’s laneways tease the imagination long after you’ve put your weary feet up to rest. They weave through the heart of the city: cafes, bars, restaurants and boutiques, throbbing with conversation and espresso coffee. You never quite know what you’ll find around the next corner: cobblestone alleys, old beer barrel hoists and even vats of simmering organic soup. There is the air of Berlin in the street art, a touch of Paris in the umbrella-shaded cafes and, reminiscent of Rome, eateries tucked away in the most unlikely of places. Perhaps you might want a break and cross the Yarra River to Southbank - walk along the promenade, bask in the sun at a waterside bar and decide whether to go to the nearby casino or book a ticket at the Melbourne theatre company.
