Fantastic party at Eis today. We love this restaurant for both casual takeaway and lovely dining experiences. We booked it out for a special family birthday. The food was delicious and catered well for those of who adore Japanese food, but also for those who...find it challenging. The service was friendly and gracious and the pace of the dishes perfect. Thankyou, Hiro and team, it was perfect. I can highly recommend Eis for meals and small-medium sized functions .More

Every single dish was perfect and superbly displayed and tasty. Between 3 of us we had the crispy chicken wrap with cucumber and carrot, a beef carpaccio special with ponzu sauce, the amazing grilled eggplant, spinach and beans, roast duck breast, sashimi, salmon sushi, the...fillet steak, and the desserts - The Panko crumb fried banana was best bana desert I ever tasted and creme caramel was great. The menu was excellent, the service wonderful and the acoustics/ambience brilliant. Even the edamame were perfect. Can't wait to go back.More

We eat here a lot, and have takeaway once a week. The service is always relaxed but charming. I love the modern minimalist feel, so like Japan (which we visit regularly). Sushi and sashimi are freshly prepared and beautiful. Hiro will also make you up...plates to takeaway for entertaining at home (take in your own plate) and the presentation is lovely. When we eat in, they can accomodate a friend who has coeliac disease with gluten-free soy, although she has to miss out on the delicious crispy chicken roll (loser!). I have read some reviews that complain there is a Western element, eg. in the vegetables - in our view this is a great addition. There is also food to satisfy the older relatives and sooks who otherwise struggle at a Japanese restaurant. Thanks for your lovely food.More

EIS has quickly become my favourite Japanese restaurant. Food is served quickly and beautifully presented. Portions are just the right size and never make you feel “over full”. Today’s lunchtime bento box was the Traditional / Chicken Katsu and was delicious. I’ve also visited as...a couple, and with a family group. The team are always welcoming, and we enjoy relaxing in this tranquil, stylish space. I can recommend the sushi and sashimi platters, the miso eggplant, and the chicken rolls (try them!) on the all-day menu.More

Eis is our favourite restaurant in Albert Park. Hiro and his team are lovely and so helpful. The traditional Japanese menu is excellent and our favourites are the grilled eggplant and the sushi/ sashimi platter. At Eis the food is delicious (both tradition Japanese menu and the contemporary menu), the wine list is excellent and Hiro and his team so kind and thoughtful. It’s a small and intimate venue with a gentle heart and philosophy. I’m so pleased to be...able to call this my local. Definitely worth a visit to Albert Park Village to experience Eis.More

I love Japanese food having lived in Japan. I had been to two other Japanese restaurants in Albert Park several times, one being significantly better than the other. We hadn’t made a booking for the evening so decided to try Eis which usually looks quieter...than the others. What a little gem! Food was really fresh & delicious. Service was excellent - staff were polite & unobtrusive. We’ll definitely be going back.More

Our family loves the eggplant dish. Just amazing. We always need multiple orders. The other dishes are amazing as well - one of our local favourites.

Went with a few friends on a cold wet Friday night. Not really busy with only 3 other tables in use, and our group of eight were somewhat noisy. A mixed menu, with a separate Japanese (sushi sashimi etc) and local/international menu. I found the...Japanese dishes we chose very good with the accompanying real imported Japanese beers delicious. A couple of us had Sake, also very good. Some who chose non-Japanese dishes were less impressed. Stick to the Japanese + beer and you will be happy.More

Booked a table close to the front of the restaurant near the heater on Saturday evening. Having visited Japan a couple of times, I was reasonably pleased with the traditional menu and realise that even though it is a Japanese restaurant, some people prefer a...more Australian or Hong Kong version of any Asian food and this alternative was also offered. We were waited on by a lovely Asian gentleman who was probably Japanese or Korean. It's a small restaurant and he managed all the tables in a timely and very courteous manner. We chose to share everything: the Age Dashi Tofu soup was delicious as was the half cut stuffed aubergine. I can't wait to go back for those two dishes and not share them. We also chose the Edamame (soy beans) to start with and a beef & rice dish and the crispy skinned King fish at the end. Every dish was delicious but the wine was a bit over-priced. My friend had a chardonnay which she couldn't drink as it gave her a head ache straight away. Must have been a cheapie. The red was very good but I think it was $12. The total cost for the two of us was just over $100 - excellent! I am suggesting to a committee I belong to that we go there for our Christmas lunch. Hoping to have lunch there next week and try some more traditional dishes after the Age Dashi Tofu!More

My fiancé and I went out for a fabulous 8 course degustation to this elegant little restaurant called EIS, my partner paid $95 and I had the extra $135 degustation with wine pairings and the food portions are most certainly worth it. My partner and...I are chefs and I have to say it's hard not to pick on a place but this was outstanding and I will be back!!! Thank you for such a great night and also thank you for hands down great service!More
