We eat here frequently for pre-theatre dining. We love the 7 course menu. Service is fast so this is possible pre-theatre.

Had dinner after the comedy festival. Its quite pricey, but the service is excellent, the food is amazing and the view is JUST GORGEOUS. if you go on a balmy night it is stunning sitting atop the Yarra and watching everyone go by. A very expensive wine list, but lots of choice. Its a lovely spot for a special treat.

We chose Sake on the back of recommendations and reviews and we were not disappointed, the food exceeded our expectations. Service initially was excellent, our waiter was knowledgeable and experienced. He was able to offer advice and suggestions for the menu and his knowledge of the wine list was very good. We chose the classic kingfish, nagiri scallops, duck and... More

Last time I was in Melbourne I visited my favourite Japanese restaurant - Sake at Southbank. Gave my order and the first dish came that was the broccolini, have had many times before and loved it. This time however it came with a huge amount of flakes over the top, when I moved the 'heap' of bonito flakes to reveal... More

Have been here a few times now and love it. Perfect location too if you are in the Arts district. Food is always delicious and the service is excellent. The staff are very attentive without being over the top.

We love Sake in Sydney so we thought that we would give Sake Melbourne a go. Our group of 4 just dropped in for a quick bite and some drinks before the river cruise. Food was good and service was excellent. Special mention to the waiter from San Tropez. Made our group feel welcome from start to finish. Just a... More

Sake Melbourne provided a good dining experience with innovative modern Japanese food and very attentive service in a nicely fitted out restaurant. The menu was a mix of classical Japanese fare and some new menu items that were Japanese influenced, well presented and tasty.

Everything about Sake was excellent. We asked for a table outside but, when we got there, we thought an inside table would be better. No problem....they arranged this for us. Benji our waiter were terrific and helpful and the food was brilliant - sashimi and Dumplings, all fantastic. I would definitely recommend this restaurant. It is great.

We had a booking for Anzac Day lunch . We arrived early after the Anzac March , wearing my dads medals and they were setting up . We asked the waiter when they would be open and without even looking up at us he grumpily said they opened at 12 and walked off . We have dined at Sake a... More

With just over one hour available, the staff were terrific in getting us through the degustation. A superb selection of just-right dishes which included nori crisps, hiramasa kingfish, grass fed beef tataki, prawn tempura, ‘glacier 51’ toothfish (the stand out), crispy fresh leaf house salad, cape grim short ribs, miso soup and the chef ’s choice dessert of a rich...
