I took my kids here as they felt like fried rice for dinner. It was the BEST fried rice! (we had the non-vegetarian rice). We also ordered a beef dish and some dumplings, and unfortunately the rice came out so far before the beef that we had finished eating when the beef arrived! We ordered more rice as it was... More

This is a regular eatery for us and we have thoroughly enjoyed it for many years. The last 3 visits however have taken the shine away. Don't care attitude. Total non interest in customers. Forgetting parts of the order and generally unacceptable. Time the owner cleared this current front of house staff out. Otherwise you'll destroy a place we have... More

A favourite of ours when in the area , we popped in for lunch. Staff where friendly and we got a seat for 4 before the lunchtime crowds started to come in and take seats. Lucky for us Yum Cha was being served up fresh. We had many of the dumplings both steamed and fried and most of their choices... More

Arrived for dinner, promptly seated in a beautifully presented half full restaurant on a balmy Friday night. We had the Yum Cha and it was sensational. Food was beautifully presented and tasted even better. Had a wide selection of food on offer, and could not find any fault at all, we ate to our hearts delight. The chatty staff were... More

Our waiter put in our order wrong so we had to wait a long time before getting our entire order. It was nearly impossible to get anyone's attention here. We asked for water and had to remind them half an hour later for it. Food is average, nothing to rave home about. Won't be coming back as there is no... More

Delicious yum cha- BBQ pork steamed buns were awesome. Shame about all the birds which have clearly been fed by patrons.

Had a great mid week lunch here. The yum Cha is high quality food and there is a good selection. Be careful when booking though, dinner they do a la carte but have been told on the phone by staff it it Yum Cha, it's not!

I organised our Christmas party here (25people) and it was one of the easiest things I've had to organise. The staff at Oriental Tea House were excellent, followed up with emails and phoned me to confirm the booking and were helpful when we had to amend the booking. Cody was great on the night and ensured we all had heaps... More

What a find! Fresh Asian food in a delightful setting - classy but funky cafe/restaurant. Lunchtime has Yum Cha with many classic and varied dishes or order a la carte. Beer, wine and teas etc all available, service is cheerful and quick. Ideal for business lunches as well as busy shoppers! Very reasonably priced, appears very clean (unlike some in... More

Staying in Central Business District

Neighbourhood Profile
Central Business District
Full of discovery and delight, Melbourne’s laneways tease the imagination long after you’ve put your weary feet up to rest. They weave through the heart of the city: cafes, bars, restaurants and boutiques, throbbing with conversation and espresso coffee. You never quite know what you’ll find around the next corner: cobblestone alleys, old beer barrel hoists and even vats of simmering organic soup. There is the air of Berlin in the street art, a touch of Paris in the umbrella-shaded cafes and, reminiscent of Rome, eateries tucked away in the most unlikely of places. Perhaps you might want a break and cross the Yarra River to Southbank - walk along the promenade, bask in the sun at a waterside bar and decide whether to go to the nearby casino or book a ticket at the Melbourne theatre company.
