We found this cafe in one of the back lanes. You can have a table along the lane or inside the small cafe. Tables are very close. The risotto and pizza were very well prepared with lots of flavour. The pizza was a nice thin crust with generous toppings. Reasonable prices and good food. The toilets are around the back... More

The cafe is wonderful, extremely clean, great waitress named Rachel and very good manager in Anthony. We live in Florida, USA and each time we come to Melbourne we come here.

Had a super solid classico breakfast here with a group of colleagues. Thick buttered toast, perfect runny poached eggs, tasty crispy bacon, delightful mushrooms and a well grilled tomato. It's a bit rare that everything is all so good at the same time, and to top it off a piping hot coffee that hit the mark. Well done, first visit... More

For breakfast the food was dry and not very imaginative. We had five different meals and all consistently poor. Coffee was mostly foam. Melbourne has some of the best breakfast places in this area and this one is not even close to average. Skip.

There are stacks of good places for food and coffee in Melbourne. This isn't one of them. Less than average salads, lukewarm coffee, dirty glasses and table, indifferent staff. Pizza was ok. Forget it.

Degraves st is always a lovely place to be in the morning and this place is a good spot to watch the crowds wandering by and to enjoy a great coffee. Also indulged in the crepes which were light and served with fresh strawberries and ice cream. Delicious.

Degraves lane is filled with Cafes and is quite a good place to just walk through people watching, it can be rather busy on the weekends and as we were here during the Australian Open it was crazy. We grabbed a chair at Andiamo for coffee and the service was a little slow due to the number of people but... More

Now and again when in the laneways of Melbourne; you just have to take a punt😱. Well, we can recommend this establishment without hesitation. We were no sooner settled when a young lady appeared with water and menus and a lively English accent.( All the way from Ipswich). We had a glass of wine each, a serve of garlic bread... More

Good for people watching! Big portions really.. ice coffee us with actual ice creame - seems like the whole street is having that type of ice coffee. I had the pesto bread and the side salat. Which is perfect if ur not that hungry! They don't do banana bread for lunch wich was a bummer.. And the Greek salad was... More

Staying in Central Business District

Neighbourhood Profile
Central Business District
Full of discovery and delight, Melbourne’s laneways tease the imagination long after you’ve put your weary feet up to rest. They weave through the heart of the city: cafes, bars, restaurants and boutiques, throbbing with conversation and espresso coffee. You never quite know what you’ll find around the next corner: cobblestone alleys, old beer barrel hoists and even vats of simmering organic soup. There is the air of Berlin in the street art, a touch of Paris in the umbrella-shaded cafes and, reminiscent of Rome, eateries tucked away in the most unlikely of places. Perhaps you might want a break and cross the Yarra River to Southbank - walk along the promenade, bask in the sun at a waterside bar and decide whether to go to the nearby casino or book a ticket at the Melbourne theatre company.
