Was tempted by the specials menu, you cant go past a hot Roast with vegs and all the trimmings on a cold wet and miserable Sunday. The gravy was lovely and thick but I could of done with more of the delish crackling that was sprinkled on top more as a seasoning than a side. Good selection of Australian wines... More

Warm English atmosphere with friendly and professional staff. I enjoyed the traditional Shepards pie washed down with a pint of "Old Speckled Hen' beer

My last meal in Melbourne was a very good one. I wanted a pub type place as I'm traveling solo. With rugby on the screen, a tasty lunch of beef and Guinness pie and a pint of beer on a hazy day, this was a success. I couldn't wait when the meal arrived. Very tasty.

This is a quirky pub with a bit of old England tossed in. If you can grab a seat at one of the windows on the street you'll have a great view of the passing traffic and people. We had lunch here, I had a Caesar Salad which was lovely, though it could have been a little colder. My husband... More

This is a fairly large, 2 story Irish Pub. It has a warm friendly feel to it. I had the shepherd pie which was delicious but the vegetables (very fresh) had NO seasoning whatsoever. My wife had the breaded cod with fries which was good but not great. Once again could've used more seasoning. The service here is awkward especially... More

Found pub dinner quite nice, although It took sometime to arrive they weren't all that busy. Nice bar downstairs, the upstairs bar closed at the time. Good service with friendly staff. Recommend for pub dinner.

Excellent friendly service and really nice food. I had the beef and ale pie with delicious mash and gravy. This pub is in a great central location and worth a visit if you fancy traditional British food and atmosphere. Showing football on the telly as well - paradise!

This was the only pub I have been in, outside of the U.K., that felt like a uk pub. Great atmosphere and good food at a fair price.

Just called in for a drink while waiting for our lift home after being to the theater. A friend of ours plays there Saturday nights. Nice place to go good service

Staying in Central Business District

Neighbourhood Profile
Central Business District
Full of discovery and delight, Melbourne’s laneways tease the imagination long after you’ve put your weary feet up to rest. They weave through the heart of the city: cafes, bars, restaurants and boutiques, throbbing with conversation and espresso coffee. You never quite know what you’ll find around the next corner: cobblestone alleys, old beer barrel hoists and even vats of simmering organic soup. There is the air of Berlin in the street art, a touch of Paris in the umbrella-shaded cafes and, reminiscent of Rome, eateries tucked away in the most unlikely of places. Perhaps you might want a break and cross the Yarra River to Southbank - walk along the promenade, bask in the sun at a waterside bar and decide whether to go to the nearby casino or book a ticket at the Melbourne theatre company.
