Booked a set hotpot meal. Selected the spicy and the bone broth soup. Seated upstairs on tables with stove inserts for the hotpot soup. If you're into the malatang hotpots, their soups are certainly a more refined version with distinct spice additions. Nicely lowbrow decor...More than enough food especially meats sliced and marinated. if MSG sensitive be aware as I reckon the spicy soup was the culprit but YMMV Had a lovely smiling young waitress who spoke english although one waiter had the generic chinese waitstaff sourpuss demeanour but the other was good despite lack of english. Life is a box of chocolates LOL Expected a lot less so pleasantly surprisedMore

Happy Lamb is a hot pot restaurant. You dip your ingredients in the boiling soup. The soup varies from mild to very spicy. We had a party of four, with one half of the pot mild, and the other half moderateley spicy. The ingredients range...from lamb and beef to fresh scallops and prawns. The ingredients are fresh and plentiful. We spend more than two hours working our way through our ingrededients. We agreed it was a satisfying meal. This is a Chinese hotpot, Korea and Japan have similar versions of their own hotpots By the way, you will be given some spoons, Westerners often consider dipping into the soup with chopsticks is not hygenic. The air conditioning is good, you won't overheat.More

We had an enjoyable dinner at a very reasonable cost in the heart of Melbourne. Excellent service, the waiting staff was very helpful, friendly and made us feel very welcome.
