We left dinner and were still hungry with a $150 bill. Main Prawn and avocado dish is instead few shrimps on green sauce (did not taste like avo). Charcoaled corn is the smallest miniature corn (should instead be served in small salad). We laughed when it arrived as we asked the waiter if we could share it initially. Seriously, we... More

Recently visited this restaurant with a friend on her recommendation. It was fantastic. Ticked all 3 boxes. Food, Service and Price. A brilliant tapas menu that just keeps you wanting more. Flavours are sensational. Try the Zucchini Flower stuffed with Prawn Mince. Went back for seconds on this one. Enjoyed some fantastic Shiraz and of course, given that this is... More

Had to change booking from Hosier Lane to include a family member and staff were excellent on accommatong this and service at Aqui was excellent. Unfortunately food was not comparable to our last visit to Hosier Lane nor our recent visit to Spain..we took a grandson for the Spanish food experience..his comment was 'nothing exceptional for the price paid...will give... Is it odd for me to like this place more than the other Movida? Everyone seems to rave about the Hosier Lane joint. At MoVida Aqui, I found the staff friendlier, the place seemed more relaxed and we were less rushed through our food. The waiter made helpful recommendations on food quantities and ordering, and his knowledge of the menu... More

We couldn't get into the original Movida so they suggested their newer premises at Movida Aqui. We were not too sure about it - but nevertheless took the opportunity. The food was sensational, the service friendly, expert and highly accommodating. We felt unhurried, sincerely attended to and very, very relaxed and sated. It was sublime!

Our Colleague decided he wanted his farewell lunch here. The menu was excessive and overwhelming but with expert input from our German host we thoroughly enjoyed a great dining experience. Without alcohol the $60 per head lunch was pricey but worth it and we will return for more. Lost 1 star rating for price.

Movida Aqui is one of those wonderful places to eat where the food is amazing and can be enjoyed with great company, without the overwhelming sense that etiquette requires more attention than winding down with a good meal. The wait staff were friendly and knowledgeable, and were more than happy to help navigate the way through the tapas menu. Movida... More

My husband , daughter and I enjoyed a wonderful dining experience last evening with plates of delicious food. This was made all the better with the superb knowledge and service provided by resident Sommelier 'Drew'. We will definitely return again to enjoy further wine recommendations and delicious cuisine.

The food was tasty and interesting although slightly smaller portions. Wine list large and varied. Good buzz, enjoyable outside terrace. Service was quick and very polite. Overall a pleasant experience. If nitpicking, slightly lacking a uniqueness. Amazing octopus raciones with pork! Must try.

A different experience here to Movida Next Door and Movida (the original one). However, the food was excellent as always, we were on the most part well attended to, although there were breaks at time in feeling like we were being served. (Although we were deep in conversation). I'd definitely go back. I just love Movida. Sitting outside was also... More

Staying in Central Business District

Neighbourhood Profile
Central Business District
Full of discovery and delight, Melbourne’s laneways tease the imagination long after you’ve put your weary feet up to rest. They weave through the heart of the city: cafes, bars, restaurants and boutiques, throbbing with conversation and espresso coffee. You never quite know what you’ll find around the next corner: cobblestone alleys, old beer barrel hoists and even vats of simmering organic soup. There is the air of Berlin in the street art, a touch of Paris in the umbrella-shaded cafes and, reminiscent of Rome, eateries tucked away in the most unlikely of places. Perhaps you might want a break and cross the Yarra River to Southbank - walk along the promenade, bask in the sun at a waterside bar and decide whether to go to the nearby casino or book a ticket at the Melbourne theatre company.
