Wonderful helpful staff and comfortable room. Would definitely visit here again. We stayed for 3 nights, my husband worked from the room using the wifi which was really stable. Everything was clean and rather spacious! Big shower! Really awesome spot on Lygon St. woolies and cinemas are close by too! We used the kitchen facilities for cooking too, this was... More

Great food and great service! Highly enjoyed our meals, especially the seafood pasta. The menu and wine list were both reasonably priced and the staff were very friendly.

With so many options in one street it was hard to make a decision on exactly which restaurant to choose. We decided with Little Lygon and we were not disappointed. I couldn't believe how delicious our meals were. Best Spaghetti Carbonara I have ever tasted!!!! When I'm back in Melbourne again I will be heading straight back here!! Not even... More

Good Italian Restaurant surrounded by so many. Spruiker was not overbearing. Ordering etc not too pressured and generally good service. Nothing to particularly to really differentiate itself from others but if unsure of choice this is recommended. Wine a little overpriced.

It's hard to find bad Italian food on Lygon St which makes it hard to choose a venue. My 2 small children were welcomed and accommodated for brilliantly from staff moving tables to fit our pram, to giving my little boy his drink in a Spider-Man cup. And the food of course was delicious. I recommend Little Lygon for a... More

Weatherwise it was perfect to eat at a kerbside restaurant. We drove to Lygon Street with the intention of negotiating with the spruikers to chose the venue. The meal and wine were excellent and good value too. The staff were attentive. the only downside, which is not the restaurant's fault, but the fault of the Government, is having to put... More

Staff were wonderful. No pressure like others to come in and eat! We kicked off with garlic bread followed by bolognese & pizza. We also enjoyed a couple of free glasses of sparkling wine. Just a nice gesture. Sat on the pavement watching the world go by. What a nice relaxing place. This place gets busy!! but no pressure to... More

It was a very windy day in Melbounre followed by heavy showers in the evening as e walked up Lygon Street , so after stopped at the LittleLygon Ristroante, Italian at 222 Lygon Street. First wines were our bribe to come in and the bread starters was perfect and tasty...salsa on multigrain and also balsamic vinegar on similar toast. Then... More

Had a wander along Lygon looking for somewhere for lunch, which is what the "Lygon experience" is about. Meander along until you get an offer you can't refuse The guy outside Little Lygon offered us free bruschetta and garlic bread and then, as we wavered, he threw in a round of drinks (choice of beer, wine or spirits!!). How could... More

Staying in Lygon Street

Neighbourhood Profile
Lygon Street
If you want real parmesan, cut from the block, grated over your pasta with a twist of style, this is the place. Until recently, this neighbourhood was home to the notorious ‘Carlton Crew,’ a pseudo mafia who started their day with a local espresso. They are gone, but the espresso still runs strong in this Little Italy which has something for everyone. Starched white tablecloths, candles, pizza the way they do it "back home" and maybe even a bit of amore. The number of gelato choices will leave you in a state of indecision and wide footpaths, big awnings and a sea of packed tables makes this al fresco dining experience a continental buzz. Even if you’re not eating, it’s worth the stroll just for the people-watching, which, of course, is an Italian tradition.
