Been here 3 times now so time to post a review as is excellent. Food is superb - fish croquettes, unbelievable bruschetta with figs and goats cheese and an incredible salted caramel dessert tonight. Staff are lovely and playing great tunes (Black Moses by Isaac Hayes and some Donald Byrd, as you asked). Get here now - just leave 2... More

Went in for a solo breakfast last Thursday morning, outside tables were half full but with two staff outside and three behind the bar inside I wouldn't say it was busy at all. I sat down and waited 10 minutes before somebody finally came and asked if I'd been served. She took my coffee order and gave me a menu.... More

I love this place. Crowded cramped and busy with like minded locals and travellers who appreciate the well priced and chosen wines on offer. Oh yes it does have food, funny I never remember much about it but it seems to match the wine well without being a highlight. Did I mention it has wine?? Yay!

Went here just for one drink. Wine was amazing, ambience great and the staff were amazing being so genuine and prompt. Had freshly shucked oysters and a glass of red before we went our for tapas. Was so memorable that.we returned for a late supper with friends and family and a bottle of wine. Highly recommended with a massive thumbs... More

This restaurant/bar serves amazing food and has a superior wine list covering all tastes. You can sit outside, inside or out the back at a shared table which still feels intimate. This place is a must while you are in Melbourne or for a quick bite to eat before or after the Theatre.

Awesome food. Incredible wine choice from excellent cellar. Could do with some air conditioning on hot days. Nice vibe. Nice people... Bravo Guy Secretan

This a fantastic find. The selection of wines is great and having enjoyed the 2010 DOYARD CLOS DE L’ABBAYE BLANC DE BLANCS 1ER CRU before with friends I wanted to send it as a gift to someone for a 'special' birthday. Jeremy couldn't have been more helpful and my friend is truly delighted. Thanks so much!

Daily specials hard to choose what to select . We often select a couple of small plates to share then have one of the delectable deserts. Blood orange meringue tart with chocolate ice cream yum 😄🍷🥂

This is a lovely place for a diner. The small kitchen offers tasty little dishes for the limited number of guests who can be accommodated either at the bar in the shop or at the big table in the backroom. Or obviously outside. We passed for a glass of wine and added some cheese and followed the recommendation of the... More

Staying in Chinatown

Neighbourhood Profile
Chinatown
Locals know that Chinatown is the tried and true place to eat before hitting the nightclub scene. The place simply buzzes, and the well-preserved buildings exude a sense of Imperial China stemming from immigration over a century ago. In restaurant after restaurant on Little Bourke Street, you'll find delicious dishes such as sizzling honeyed prawns, and value for your money. Stately matrons oversee family kitchens serving up age-old recipes. The lighting may be unromantic, the patrons loud, and the service no-nonsense, but the food is sensational.
