Ajisen Ramen is a great spot to try out some good Japanese dishes. The service is spot on, the meal is prepared quickly and their lemon tea goes well with any of their spicy dishes. Try it out

I would actually rate it a 3.5 rather than a 3, better than average, but not quite "very good". The staff were friendly and the food was good. I was just a bit disappointed that there was no vegetarian ramen. Also the online ordering that you're promoted to do at the table did not work.

Enjoying being marooned in Melbourne. While waiting for my train popped into Ajisen Ramen for lunch. Most dishes are pork but found a nice vegetarian option.
Order using QR code direct to kitchen, works well helping with COVID separation. Service quick and MESO soup great.

I came for lunch after the theatre and ordered fried ramen with veggies and it was SO nice. Service was attentive and the food came out fresh, piping hot in almost no time at all. Thanks!

You will experience food coma at this place when you order a meal and an appetizer. Centrally located, busy at most times. Ajisen ramen dishes are flavour packed. Interesting tidbit, the menu is given on a tablet for you to order. Its convenient, you can add or remove toppings from your dish. They have a separate menu for special dishes. Yummy in my tummy is an understatement at Ajisen Ramen

Really busy at lunchtimes. Share tables at times. Been there many times and food always great. Good portion sizes. Very fast service. Negative is the noise. Avoid if you want a quiet chat. Otherwise, it's value for money and quick, so you can easily have a good meal during your lunch break. Location good. Above Melbourne Central station and near Elizabeth street trams

We enjoyed the eggplant in Miso, the lotus chips, and the teriyaki yasai.
The atmosphere is great and staff are very friendly.
However it is worth noting that the staff told us the ramen in the vegetarian menu has "seafood sauce", so isn't actually vegetarian. We appreciate ld being told though.

Ramen soup was good. However meats were not fresh. Steak was also very chewing. Not not a good idea to go back again.

I felt like some ramen noodles and went into the first one i came across. This one is run by Koreans and the menu reflects the Korean influence. The noodles were tasty as was the soup. The service was fast and efficient. I am usually a traditionalist when it comes to Japanese food , but i didn't leave disappointed. Also on the menu is a selection of entree style offerings such as a variety of goyza. I had the soft shell crab, which was tasty

This restaurant was just across the road from my hotel and it was a freezing night so it made sense. The kimchi was great and a very healthy portion. The Ebi prawn dish was delightful and for main I had the spicy beef ramen. It was great with the only minor disappointment being the dryness of the beef. All round a very enjoyable meal.

Central Business District
Full of discovery and delight, Melbourne’s laneways tease the imagination long after you’ve put your weary feet up to rest. They weave through the heart of the city: cafes, bars, restaurants and boutiques, throbbing with conversation and espresso coffee. You never quite know what you’ll find around the next corner: cobblestone alleys, old beer barrel hoists and even vats of simmering organic soup. There is the air of Berlin in the street art, a touch of Paris in the umbrella-shaded cafes and, reminiscent of Rome, eateries tucked away in the most unlikely of places. Perhaps you might want a break and cross the Yarra River to Southbank - walk along the promenade, bask in the sun at a waterside bar and decide whether to go to the nearby casino or book a ticket at the Melbourne theatre company.
