We weren't expecting much - but we were happily surprised how good the food and service was. We had breakfast here and were greeted by a gentleman with a lovely smile. Our breakfast (eggs our way) was extremely tasty. You eat outside - it is right next to the market. Lots of activity in the area to watch while you... More

On a recent Sunday morning I walked from my hotel near the river up to the Queen Victoria market to take a look around. After a couple of hours of shopping I was in need of a drink and a place to rest my weary legs. I eventually stumbled on to the Invita Cafe. At the counter, I ordered an... More

Came to the market wanting to eat before wandering around and this place was recommended by a stall worker. Best suggestion ever! The scrambled tofu was just D'lish! Exactly what I need and was the best food I had to date on this visit to Melbourne. The coffee was also wonderful and huge! All in all a great visit. Highly... More

This nice cafe is right next to the organic section of the Queen Victoria Market. I had my best Melbourne lunch there.

Don't bother asking for extra hot coffee because chances are you won't get it. I ordered 3 extra hot capucinos and they were not drinkable. Not interested in complaining. Should get the order right first time.

I love the chocolate brownies which taste perfect bitter cocoa and soft melted in your mouth. The sweetness is perfect to consume with their coffee latte ☕ I am looking forward to go back again.

Only had a coffee from Invita Café, but it was delicious! Used a voucher and they were very flexible allowing me to pay for a size upgrade.

We just stopped for coffee after walking the market. Enjoyed the outdoor setting and impressed by the coffee art. Coffee was good too.

Love this place. Whether you are gluten-free, raw, vegan, organic, paleo you can likely find something here to suit your diet preferences! Affordable and delicious with a number of options including fresh juices, coffee, dessert and main meals as well. Captures the ambiance of the adjacent Queen Victoria Markets. Since I'm giving Canberra's Hot Air Balloon Festival a miss this year, it was quite a surprise to catch several of Melbourne's own fleet gliding over Victoria Market this morning. Saved myself a long drive! Either way, early rising was in and the extra bonus to be had at Invita was the welcoming smiles; you don't get those on the... More

Staying in Central Business District

Neighbourhood Profile
Central Business District
Full of discovery and delight, Melbourne’s laneways tease the imagination long after you’ve put your weary feet up to rest. They weave through the heart of the city: cafes, bars, restaurants and boutiques, throbbing with conversation and espresso coffee. You never quite know what you’ll find around the next corner: cobblestone alleys, old beer barrel hoists and even vats of simmering organic soup. There is the air of Berlin in the street art, a touch of Paris in the umbrella-shaded cafes and, reminiscent of Rome, eateries tucked away in the most unlikely of places. Perhaps you might want a break and cross the Yarra River to Southbank - walk along the promenade, bask in the sun at a waterside bar and decide whether to go to the nearby casino or book a ticket at the Melbourne theatre company.
