This restaurant was one of the highlights while staying at Battery Point. The food was amazing especially the goat curry! The staff were friendly and the food was well priced. Highly recommend this restaurant.

I love to taste different cuisines but my dinner was disappointing. A vegetarian noodle dish was very dry and lacking in vegetables. Perhaps dishes of meat- the majority on the menu- may have been more tasty and traditional Nepalese. I was an early diner and...More

The food at Kathmandu Cuisine in Battery Point was so incredible, we ignored all the other delights here & returned for a second night to enjoy their amazing Tibetan inspired food. The curries are mind blowing & service exemplary. Highly recommend!

First time I've eaten Nepalese cuisine and absolutely loved it. Staff were lovely, setting was nice and food was fantastic. Reasonably priced and excellent value for money. Definitely recommend if you are looking at something different to try.

I had Vegetable Thakali, rice, roti, lentils and two vegetable curries. Huge meal, over ate to finish every single bit of this dish. Roti was paper thin, vegetable curries, hot as I had requested, flavoursome. Loved my meal, simple enjoyable tasty food. Staff, not overly...More

Excellent value for money, fabulous service and divine food. I had the chicken mango curry with a lovely crisp local white wine and the total came to less than $30. Can't complain about that!

Kathmandu is relatively new to Hobart, offering a delicious range of Nepalese food, taking inspiration from our neighbours India, Tibet and China. Picture a quiet evening out with your loved one, tucked away in an intimate dining space, soft warm lighting and street views of heritage Battery Point. Or a lively get together with a bunch of friends out the back room. This place caters for all, providing excellent and attentive service. The menu is extensive, offering a range of dishes tailored for meat and vegetables. Selection of curries, covering, fish, chicken, lamb and goat. To accompany serves of garlic roti and rice, one infused with almonds, peas and currants. The flavours in these meals are delicately complex, where saffron, cumin and cardamon marry black pepper cinnamon and ginger. Beautifully presented, and prepared you will be hankering for more.
