We enjoyed our first experience at this character-full café so much that we had breakfast there two days running. Our welcome was very friendly, the breakfast menu was very good and the service was quick. We found additional tables in the courtyard at the rear. Our food was tasty and well presented, and the coffees were good. The atmosphere was... More

After having breakfast at Jackman & McRoss a couple of doors down yesterday (which was ok) went to Mili Vinilli this morning. What an amazing fit out, food, coffee and would strongly recommend making Mili Vinilli your priority for breakfast and lunch! This place is clearly best in town and will back for sure!

For people exploring historic Battery Point a great place for excellent coffee and a varied small menu including delicious Japanese style light food.

I absolutely love this little gem. The Raman compares with some of the best ramans I've had in the Asia's. Their Thai diner is incredible with tasty prawn cakes. The service and location can't be beaten. In fact the expensive place down the road ( forget it's name, has bright blue fairy lights) has nothing on this family run gem.... More

This was one of the only places to get a breakfast and coffee early on a public holiday. A really warm and cosy atmosphere, good service and the food was great. Coffee was excellent, would highly recommend this cafe.

This eclectic wine bar or coffee shop or restaurant is in a converted grocery store in the heart of historic Battery Point. The Decore is very funky, drinks list is great and the menu is a strange moisture of Australian comfort foods, Japanese and Thai. All that I have tried have been delicious, and the service is friendly and efficient.... More

cosy atmosphere on a cold wet day. Warm food. Wide range of choices. Had to go the miso soup in the end. Wine available as well.

I go there for one and one thing only. The bento box. This is the perfect setup for a tasty week-end lunch, keeping your diet balanced. Quantities are just what is needed, no more. Downside is the price. Fairly expensive in my opinion.

We had breakfast at this establishment whilst in Hobart last weekend. It was reasonably busy but the service was quick and polite. The cottage is decorated in a quirky way with lots of old furniture and comfortable chairs. There is a dog friendly courtyard at the rear. We had scrambled eggs/poached eggs and bacon which was very nice. Went back... More

Description
Jam Jar Lounge opened in 2009, quickly establishing itself as a unique cafe/wine bar perfectly suited in historical Battery Point. Jam Jar was recently selected as one of the Top 10 Cafes in Hobart for 2014 (Tasmanian Food Guide Editor's Choice).

In addition to operating as a cafe by day reviving the iconic Aussie "Jaffle" on it's breakfast menu, it also offers authentic Japanese "Ramen" noodles and a range of healthy "Bento Boxes" for lunch.

Jam Jar has built a fantastic reputation for it's legendary Friday nights serving Japanese Tapas (small plates) in a wonderful 1920's jazz themed atmosphere. In response to the overwhelming popularity of Friday nights, Jam Jar is now open on Saturday and Sunday evenings. Our wine list always includes several Tasmanian wines which we change regularly.

Jam Jar offers several relaxed areas to enjoy your experience including a sunny "dog friendly" courtyard, quiet library with wood fire, or front communal table for larger groups. For those who insist on privacy we invite you to book our back "shed" with seating from 6-8 people. Free Wi-Fi is available during business hours.
