We decided to have dinner here after enjoying the Adelaide sights on the 2nd. January. Very busy but we managed to get seating. Extensive menu. My wife ordered the Brunelli Chef Salad; grilled chicken tenders, smoked Tasmanian salmon, grilled prawns, lettuce, tomato, cucumber and onion with a seeded mustard vinaigrette, topped with balsamic aioli. I opted for the Surf and Turf; veal schnitzels with creamy garlic sauce topped with prawns and salt & pepper calamari. Generous serves on the plate and the food was tasty, traditional Italian fare that we both enjoyed. The accompanying sauvignon blanc and shiraz equally enjoyable. We returned another day for a snack; garlic bread and Crepe Suzette with our usual wine selections. Enormous serves, my wife departed with most of her meal in a container, my Crepe Suzette was platter size but I somehow managed. We both enjoyed our meals but felt that the restaurant is more 'home' cooking style. Service can be very ad hoc. Order and pay at the counter when ordering, and then return and pay again if you wish for an additional drink. More pub style than restaurant.

If you are after delicious food, hearty and wholesome this is the place. I mean when you ask a fellow eater at the table about the schnitzel. Their response is "it's a schnitzel" you know its good. The other food pictured here is the Amarticiana as well is delicious. Also the arancini balls are fantastic. The drawback is though the staff could be a little more attentive when it comes to bringing the food out at the same time. Overall though it's a very good place to have a feed.

We ordered 3 mains, my daughter’s chicken and prawns in chilli sauce was delicious as served. I had the Moroccan Salad with the marinated lamb option. The salad and lamb were delicious and very generous serve, but it came served with fried tortilla like thing, which had been described as flatbread on the menu. When i queried it upon arrival I was told this was how they served it. I told the waiter that I didn’t eat fried bread, but left it at that. Next minute a normal flatbread arrived to replace the fried thing. It completely changed the salad and it was so much more delicious with the real flatbread. It was a lovely surprise too that they just did it without being asked after I had said I didn’t like the fried thing. That is great customer service. My husband had the Osso Buco Ragu with penne. The sauce was absolutely delicious but the pasta was well undercooked, about 2 minutes shy of al dente (he is Italian and is very particular with pasta being right) and it was also the smallest serve of the three main meals by a long way . They saved the best for last. By far the star of the evening was the Rum Baba and cannolli, the best we have had outside of our favourite traditional Italian cake shop in Port Kembla, NSW. Will definitely go back for the desserts alone

Went to this restaurant in City week before Monday. My friend and I ordered salad dinner (Mediterranean and Cesar Salad ) as they are normally the safest dishes at any restaurants. Both salads were quite bad. The feta cheeses on my friend's salad had no taste and the texture was different from normal feta. My friend took out all feta from her food. Sauce was too strong and olives were very salty. Mine was not any better either. Sauce was so strong and salty so I asked to do it again. They brought the salad with sauce set aside. Second time was not even better. Crouton is just like dried bread no seasoning whatsoever. It also had a fried egg instead of either boiled or pouched eggs Even the fried egg was not cooked properly and it was almost raw egg. Second salad was even served very slow. It was served after my friend finished eating. ☹️ Restaurant was not busy at all and 3-4 people were at kitchen. Was not sure why it took so long. The server apologised several time for slow serving that's why I gave more points in service. I won't go to this restaurant ever! Even couple near my table did not finish the meal either. Personally, I don't think they have any qualified cook in house. If any person did not know how to do salad properly how can they cook other complicated dishes.

My wife and I ate at Cafe Brunello tonight. We ordered a shared dip platter to start and individual main courses. The pita with the dips was warm and very nice, the dips were pretty standard but tasty. For mains I had the lamb back strap with prawns and squid, it was very nice, the only downside is it was too big and I couldn't stop eating. My wife order the pasta Brunelli which was a pasta with crab meat, prawns and plenty of chilli, she really enjoyed it, but for her the heat from the chilli was a bit much. Service was quick and reasonable. If you do chose to eat at this restaurant just be aware that you need to go to the counter to order meals and drinks. Prices and food are good for Rundle St

If you want your order to be forgotten and poor quality pasta, come here for lunch. The place was next to empty and after having to wait some time to order, the ticket apparently never reached the kitchen which I discovered when I asked where my meal was over 30 minutes later. I sat unacknowledged at a dirty table that entire time. I literally had to ask for the table of food remnants to be cleaned. When my lunch finally arrived, I was surprised at the small serving for the price and the overcooked cheap pasta. I feel robbed. Avoid this place. Staff need to get their act together.

One of THE worst experiences eating out Ive had !!! Out of 4 of our orders only one was correct. From start to finish customer service was terrible, food was disgusting, confusion placing and order, receiving our meals, explaining what was wrong with our meals. No offer to refund the uneaten meal. The manner in which the food was served at our table WAS not hygienic!!! Have dined at Brunellis for years prior to this recent visit and never will again!!!

We came here on a Saturday evening about 5pm, out of desperation as many places were closed. It had a bad feeling to it immediately, as a waiter just sort of flicked his hand in the general direction of a table then raced about ignoring us until we actively got his attention; asking about the dips we were told “Oh I’ll have to ask “ as if it was an inconvenience and then this was followed with “ Oh and there’s no pizza or bruschetta, the oven’s not working”. When we called him over to order he just waved angrily in the general direction of a counter and raced off again. No clearly signed area to order, no one to take it when I was standing there, an argument was obviously happening in the open kitchen, hardly anyone had food in front of them, then finally someone came up, with another customer in tow, told me to “Wait for two minutes “ and then a kitchen person came out, walked straight in front of me and started complaining about something to the person behind the counter! That was it, we left. Cafe Brunelli, it costs nothing to be polite and welcoming to customers, but it’s cost you any business from us in the future.

Staff are wonderful! Ordered eggs Benedict with bacon instead of ham. It came with the cheap rubbery square ham, poached eggs were hard boiled and toast so tough I had to rip it. Good coffee. Bit disappointed but staff so friendly and accommodating, could not complain

Went for breakky with the kids on a Sunday morning. Limited options open so went to Brunelli’s thinking it would be a solid choice. Poached eggs were partly raw and bacon was hardly warm. The ‘Italian wood oven bread’ was soggy too. When management was made aware, a new breakfast was served (which is great) but the poached eggs were then hard boiled. On the plus, the service was friendly, coffee was OK. We certainly won’t be eating breakky here again.

Tardy service, cold meals & drinks not what we ordered made for an incredibly underwhelming experience for all four of us. Mid morning brunch with few customers still had us waiting 40 minutes for our meals which were cold on arrival. None of us will be returning and earlier comments (read belatedly) show that poor service & cuisine is an ongoing problem.

Went there today with my teenage granddaughters for breakfast and coffee, all I can say is the food is terrible, the girls were not madly hungry so they decided to order a big Becky to share, the whole plate was inedible, the single sausage was charcoal, and sent back twice. We were not asked how we wanted the eggs and we got dry charcoal tinged scrambled egg, the beans tasted odd, and the hash brown were also over cooked. We had two very ordinary ice coffees , The total bill was $43.50 , which they then proceeded to charge me a surcharge on top for bank fees. Do your self a favour stay away!

The positive element first: Our waiter was very friendly and provided very good service. Now to the not so positive: Okay, we went there for breakfast on Good Friday as most other places were closed. We had to wait more than 30 min for our food. The waffles my wife had ordered were rather hard and dry and I doubt very much that they were freshly made. My bagel was also rather dry and I find 3 AUD for an additional wafer thin slice of salmon rather steep. Overall, not really convincing and we look forward to trying out the other good coffee shops in Adelaide.

What absolutely terrible service! You walk in expecting Italian cooking by Italians and that is definitely not what you get! Pasta wasn’t even cooked, chicken was so over cooked you couldn’t even cut it properly with a steak knife. Staff were rude and extremely slow. When my chicken breast came I asked where the vegetables were waitress said you didn’t ask for them, I said no, it’s on The menu that the chicken breast comes with veg, she started to argue with me and I said not check the menu, she storms off and comes back with the most over salted plate of vegetables I have ever had. Disgraceful restaurant
