We are from out of town and selected Apothecary through Trip Adviser to surprise our Adelaide friends. The surprise worked well as the restaurant is in a seedier part of the city and our friends could not guess where we were going. Once there we were all delightfully surprised with both the decor and the staff. Great ambience, a superb... More

We had the tasting menu with matched wines, it was absolutely delicious! My fiancé and I would have happily licked the plate clean after the dessert! The resturant is beautifully eclectic and cosy. The staff were definitely not silver service, (we had the same side plate and cutlery for all courses) but they were prompt and very friendly. We really... More

Have been traveling in Australia for 15 days now and I gotta say it was the best restaurant I have eaten since I got here. The food was excellent and so was the service. The old furniture is really nice and it has a really nice atmosphere. You should try if you have the chance!

The building housing the restaurant is beautifully restored but the neighborhood itself seems a bit seedy. But as soon as you enter the door, you are transported back in time! What a setting for its delicious dishes. We shared 3 savory dishes (smoked eel, tuna tartare, ox tail) a main (lamb) and 2 sides (mixed vegetables and new potatoes). Everything... More

Step back in time into an eclectic mix of furnishings and memorabilia. Coming in from bustling Hindley Street, Apothecary is like being in a time warp of quality service and brilliant food. Starting off with some truly wonderful cocktails, our very helpful waiter suggested we share appetisers (a good suggestion as they were all bursting with flavour). Our group had... More

We have had drinks before at the wonderful historic Apothecary but never dinner. We were very pleasantly surprised with first rate food and service. A fantastic wine list and an amazing building and history. Definitely worth a visit and for much more than a glass of wine.

We went there on a week night, no reservation, as a group of 9 people. The waiter showed us to a table on the mezzanine where we had a large table to ourselves. We decided to have the chef's degustation menu that consists of 3 entree, 2 mains (with sides) and a dessert. The food was just simply deslicious! Some... More

Good spot to go with colleagues, as it's quit upmarket without being snobby. Excellent choice of wines and chilled out service.

Walked by this spot and we're drawn in by the antique decor and subtle hipness of this delightful resto; it totally delivered. The food! The ambience! The service! All wonderful. My mum ordered the lamb loin and it was delicious: tender and flavorful with lovely accompaniments (whipped parsnip mash 😍) I ordered all appetizers to sample the flavored: the spice... More
