Have eaten at Rice numerous times and when in the area, is always our café of choice. Great food, and coffee delivered quickly with many gluten free options. Haven't had a bad meal but the burgers are our favourite.

Delicious mocha on oat milk. Orange and hazelnut cake was yum. Good choice of music playing. Give this place a try:)

Went on internet recommendations and we and several others were really impressed with the quality of the food, along with really good value. At least 30% cheaper than comparable places in the city.

Looking for somewhere to meet my daughter in the area that was open later than 1pm on a Sunday. Good coffee and to our delight live music from 11am - 2pm on a Sunday. Food was good and a nice variety to the menu too. Fresh juices and tapas. Gas heaters and blankets for the cold snap and a relaxed atmosphere. Will be back again.

Quick and on point. Coffee is hot and strong, loved the little Chocolate extra added. Service was quick and friendly. Will definitely come back again.

Husband and I made a flying visit to the Aspley Homemaker Center to look at the bedding outlets , the Rice Cafe was nearby , we called in for a afternoon coffee before going home . The atmosphere there is most relaxing , the staff were busy , the area is spotlessly clean , and yes , the coffees hit the spot !!

We were regular customers at Rice Cafe but on a Sunday in September I noticed that my shirt was sticking to the back of the chair. On closer inspection we noticed black streak marks across the back of my shirt. We showed a staff member on leaving who didn't know what to do so I sent an email to Rice Cafe. After a week of no response I contacted their head office and sent the email to the owner. Eventually a staff member called me and advised that no one else had complained and that they would be replacing the tables and chairs some time in the future but couldn't say exactly when. I explained very clearly that I was not after compensation - I just wanted to report the problem so it could be resolved. I suggested that maybe a solution was to cover the backs of the chairs but I was told to ask for a cushion next time I visited the cafe. She also offered me a free lunch and said she would email me the details of the staff members to contact. I wasn't interested in the free lunch - I just wanted the problem resolved so we could continue to visit the cafe and not have to worry about damaging my shirt. Now 6 weeks has passed and I never received the email. We have stopped going to Rice Cafe because of their lack of customer care. And the other 3 couples that we introduced to the cafe also no longer go there. Businesses need to learn that when a customer makes a genuine complaint that they do so because they want to keep dealing with them. My complaint was never taken seriously.

I love this Cafe and go there quite a bit. The staff are lovely the coffee is great and don't even get me started on the muffins. You can sit inside and look at all the fabulous furniture or they have a great outdoor area with heating if it's a bit cold. I love homemade food and the chef there makes great scones and muffins. It is in a Homemaker centre so the outlook is not great but don't let that put you off, the atmosphere of the store and Cafe is great.

Husband and I had just finished looking for carpet at a nearby outlet , we thought we might have lunch at Rice Cafe Homebase . It's been over twelve months since our last visit . We both ordered quiche with salad and coffees . The coffees were fantastic , but the presentation of the quiches, with sauce, and the tossed salad was dreadful , We were disappointed , but we would try lunch another time !!

Friendly staff, but a little slow taking orders at the counter. The menu has great choices for morning tea and lunch, with very reasonable prices. Definitely worth a visit while shopping at Aspley Homemaker City.

We were furniture shopping and decided on the spur of the moment to have breakfast. It was very delicious. We had mince on toast and scrambled eggs. Both were wonderful, perfect flavour and clearly fresh ingredients. The homemade hash brown was a stunning surprise.

Very happy to discover this cafe cum furniture store at the Aspley Homemaker Centre. They have a fairly large outdoor area which was pleasantly cool on a hot morning with the large fans, and my morning flat white on zymil (yes I'm one of those boring lactose intolerant people!) was v good - nice and strong but with no bitterness. Staff were friendly and the meals going to other tables looked great. We'll be back!

Happened to go to the Aspley homemaker centre for some shopping. Saw Rice Cafe and thought we'd have a coffee. We were quite gobsmacked when we saw their menu. Have since been there numerous times for breakfast and lunch. It is amazing the food they produce in the small kitchen. It was amazing. I have been to these type of eateries where they have a mixture of retail and food. This is by far the best eating experience I have had at this type of eatery, They also serve one of the best coffees I have ever experienced. Excellent place to take your friends for an informal meal or just a cup of coffee and a cake.

A friend had bought me a takeaway toasted sandwich and coffee from this cafe a couple of months ago when I was not well. A friend and I decided to call in for lunch after we had been to the markets. We each had a cheese and ham toasted sandwich which was over toasted and completely tasteless. The coffee at this establishment is excellent. I mentioned the blandness of our sandwiches to the waitress when she came to clear the table and she said we should have taken it back. I must admit neither of us thought to do this. She did offer us a free cake to make up for the sandwich disaster. The takeaway toasted sandwich I had had earlier was not on the menu, so there must have been a change. Sadly, I will not be returning.
