People mainly go here for their takeaway coffees/snacks, however you can eat at their tables - either alfresco or inside. For takeaways, you place your order at the front counter and wait until your name is called and then you collect it from a side counter. The snacks (cakes, wraps, cookies) looked delicious. There was a long queue when I... More

I tell everyone that Merlo coffee is the best - better than coffee in Melbourne and Italy. I have been going there regularly since it opened in the early 90's and never had a complaint. It is just delicious coffee.

Great coffee and the white chocolate and cranberry slice I had was delicious. Served by a really friendly young man, I asked if I could take one of the super little books about coffee that was on all the tables. He went to ask and brought me a new one to take away. Went back another day for more coffee,... More

Truly the best coffee I have ever had. This mini chain has broken my decade long addiction to a world famous chain of coffee stores. Now I know what real coffee tastes like. Please go global, Merlo- the world needs you.

Love the concept behind this cafe. Very easygoing atmosphere. Quick, but good service. I used to sit down with a good friend of mine and chat forever. They also have a loyalty card and if you get 10 coffees, you can get one for free!

I am a fan of coffee. And their coffee was not a pleasure to drink. Waitresses were a bit sleepy but friendly. The place is dirty. The orange and almond cake was fine but $4.50 is too much for an undustrial non-home-made cake.

When we first arrived in Brisbane 15 years ago, it was so difficult to find good strong, aromatic, non bitter coffee. We came from Melbourne, a city with historically excellent coffee thanks to the Italian population. Thank goodness for Dean Merlo who quit his day job as a lawyer. You will find Merlo in many parts of town now. Try... More

It has the best mocha ive ever had. Even Starbucks cant beat them. It cost less then 10 dollars for the big one. I cant remember the exact price but im pretty sure its about 5 dollars for the big one. You can try their range of cakes and sandwiches with your coffee too!
