We had the Carbonara pasta, which was absolutely gorgeous. Cooked to perfection as expected and incredibly filling even though the portion size isn't enormous. Cosy yet classy, lovely place for a romantic dinner.

Very traditional Italian food (that's a compliment!). The menu doesn't change a lot, but it's all great. Wine list is amazing, but not cheap

I have been here a number of times with my partner and friends. Never once have I be disappointed with the service or quality of food. I cannot recommend the Ciacio E Pepe enough.

Dined here for a special birthday with family. Food was rich and delicious and the wait staff were particularly attentive and knowledgable about the wine. Unfortunately our wine choice was unavailable that evening, but a suitable alternative was recommended and very much enjoyed.

Hi Craig - we have since heard from another family dining the same night as we did (one of them is a work colleague) that they had the same experience with the waitress that we did. It is a shame that the restaurant avoids... More

Description
1889 Enoteca is part of the heritage listed Moreton Rubber Works building (circa 1889) located in the antique quarter of Woolloongabba. We have incorporated a restaurant & wine bar along with a basement level cellar for private dining & functions for up to 42 people. We offer traditional Roman fare which is made to be enjoyed in our relaxed but sophisticated setting. Our menu showcases the freshest produce available & the pasta & bread that we offer is and made by our chefs on a daily basis which is testament to our commitment to quality. Our wine list is an encyclopedia of artisan producers with a particular focus on natural winemakers. Natural winemaking involves using indigenous yeasts, minimal (if any) chemicals & little technological intervention. Many of these wines are organic, biodynamic & have been picked personally by the owners who have visited the vineyards. Our wines have a story!
