Cafe located at the Museum and Art Gallery of the NT, it is a pleasant spot that does a good coffee: the gluten free cake offering was pretty ordinary but I am told the regular option taken was good.

Wow!! So glad we got here before the word had got out that the Museum Cafe/Restaurant is opened again!! Service is good.. food is sublime & wine & beer list is one of the best I have seen in Darwin.. promoting local beers & Aussie...wines. Get yourself down here before the word gets out.. & if you’re here for breakfast I recommend Peter’s chilli 🌶 scrambled eggs..And the dinner share plates are tasty & great value…More
Delicious meals & nice cake & coffee on the verandah after an enjoyable visit to the Museum to see the Cyclone Tracy exhibit plus the others within. Served with a smile on the verandah with a pleasant breeze blowing in. Lovely food, great outlook. Would...recommend.More
I know it was a busy day with the Dragonfly Craft Fair on and like many places maybe they had a staff shortage but we waited for a very long time for our coffees and then ordered 3 of the Tropical Fruit Salad with yoghurt...and honey again a very long wait. This was the worst fruit salad I have ever had., it was advertised as a Tropical Fruit Salad with NO tropical fruit in it. There was apple and lots of it, watermelon, rockmelon and orange one of the serves didn’t even have any rockmelon so there is obviously no one checking that the food is going out correctly, there was lots of honey and not so much yoghurt. My elderly mother who never complains about anything was so disappointed as most of her bowl was apple. Darwin is in the Tropics so you would expect in a Tropical Fruit Salad to have at least some Pineapple, Mango, PawPaw (which is dropping of the trees here at the moment) and some berries for a splash of colour. Yep we will not be backMore
We were very disappointed on a number of fronts. We prebooked a table for 9.There was confusion regarding our table, the service was slow but the food was both disappointing and very slow. We waited 45 mins for 2/3rds of the meals and the other...meals were over an hour wait. The prawn salad had a salad base which had been sitting in a salad dressing for a while and had 4 medium size prawns. We are still looking for the prawns in the Vietnamese rolls. Meals were not as ordered and not of great quality Very disappointing.More
We went for lunch before visiting the museum. It was great food and lovely service. They were extraordinarily busy and that was obvious, but it didn't impact our experience or our food. Our waitress was lovely and the other staff were pleasant. It was relatively...expensive for the size of the food servings, but was nice.More
Worst cafe ever - go somewhere else! Thought I would take the teenagers on a nice day out and to what used to be a great lunch spot. We ordered 2 Caesar salads, a wrap, and a kids ‘popcorn chicken’. $100 later we got 2...salads with no egg - had to ask for the poached egg. We got the salads back, one with a fried egg on top, one with a egg white on top with no yolk - that was weird. The chicken was grey meat, the underside of the chicken not the breast, unbeatable, the salad was flaccid and no trace of any Parmesan cheese or anchovies. The dressing was probably from cokes The child we were with wasn’t impressed with the cold soggy chips or the so called popcorn chicken which was actually a battered chicken thigh cut up. Best thing we ate for lunch was a can of coke. Would NOT recommend, go somewhere else for lunch!!More
Restaurant attached to museum and art gallery. Fair range of meals, a little overpriced but to be expected for its location. Meals came out quickly but had to sit at a table that was not cleared or clean. Nice view of the water from outdoor...eating areaMore
Beautiful deck views of the sea, fabulous coffee, friendly service. I had strawberry crepes which were delicious. Partner had full Australian breakfast. All food first class. Loved it so much we're coming back for lunch ch with grandchildren. Staff are friendly and helpful.
We went to Saltwater for breakfast on our 50th wedding anniversary and couldn’t have found anywhere nicer ! The staff were friendly and efficient and the breakfast was delicious, great view and a lovely breeze out on the deck. Well done to you for having...such a lovely spot in Darwin 😊More
Amazing service, great food and beautiful setting. Decided to pop in for lunch after going to the museum, couldn’t have been more perfect.
We had the vegetarian omelette and the crepe along with coffees. All came out fresh and quickly. The service was excellent even though they were short on staff and couldn't fault a thing. Will be back.
I ate here a couple of weeks ago when I was visiting old friends in Darwin. The location is stunning, tropical Darwin at its best. Unfortunately it was too ‘tropical Darwin’ to sit outside on the gorgeous deck (too bloody humid) but the inside was...a cool relief and almost as good. Ample glass windows provide relaxing views of tropical gardens, the Arafura sea and East Point. The service was excellent, friendly, courteous and relaxed. I ordered the coconut banana prawns and they were some of the nicest prawns I’ve ever eaten. Quality crustaceans! Fresh, plump, juicy and sweet, not like the bland, obviously frozen prawns you often get at restaurants these days at a restaurant. The range of cakes, for dessert, were made fresh on the premises and too tempting. I had a chocolate caramel torte which satisfied my sweet tooth. A gorgeous place for lunch with friends. Can’t wait to go back again next time I’m in town.More
Stunning seafood for 2 lunch plate, one of the best we have had anywhere, sauce flavors were amazing
A wonderful place for a family luncheon. A relaxed atmosphere a perfectly sized portions for lunch. Reasonably priced & a nice selection of dishes.
