We visited Zaaffran on a very busy Saturday night. we had not booked and were very lucky to get a table even though it was early. We were met by a courteous gentleman who was able to locate the only spare table. Many people after us entered the restaurant and were not so lucky or were agreeable to wait at... More

Four of has dinner here on a Saturday night before a concert at the ICC (International Convention Centre). Turned up without a reservation and we were welcomed quickly and efficiently. Lovely location, although all restaurants at Darling Harbour have good locations, and the food was nice with well flavoured meals and lovely naan breads. Service staff were attentive and available... We were so happy with this wonderful Indian restaurant, the staff were really fabulous. All of them were happy nice and attentive without being over the top. It was a really busy Saturday in the whole Darling Harbour precinct and we had trouble finding a restaurant when we found this upstairs restaurant with a very pleasant view and we were... More

I had read really great reviews about the food at Zaffran and we decided to have our Anniversary dinner here. We had booked in advance. The restaurant was fairly empty on a Sunday evening around 8 PM so I was a little surprised. The staff was very pleasant and helpful. The food is general was ok. I have no complaints... More

I attended this contemporary restaurant overlooking Darling Harbour with my work colleagues. With the help of a very knowledgeable waiter we had a fantastic meal of authentic Indian dishes which were packed full of flavor without setting your mouth on fire. The menu accommodates people with a large range of food allergies including offering dairy, gluten and nut free meals... More

While on a visit to Sydney, we heard about fireworks at Darling harbor on a weekend, we did not know we have to reserve in a restaurants for a good view while dining. The owner accomodated us until the reserved guests come during sun down. They served nice hot tasty food ane all were very friendly. As a vegetarian and... More

I attended twice at separate times at beginning of service with guests. I asked for a seat on the balcony, they put us on a corner with a pole blocking our view even though there were multiple seats available. It upset my guests each time, and both times I asked to be moved. It was really rude. The waiters need... More

Great location, service was ok. Our salmon entrees was cold and bland but potato street food was yum. Mains was a let down. Could not taste ginger and cinnamon (as written on menu) in my chicken and the seafood curry was bland. Nan was cold, but quickly replaced when we told the staff about it. A bit pricier than your... We love our Indian. The owner of the restaurant was extremely friendly. The food was very nice. We had the beef ribs amongst many other foods including some Indian street food. Some what expensive but definitly worth the trip.

We had such a terrible experience! I would recommend you eat anywhere other than eating at Zaaffran. It was very poor. The service was bad, food was very salty with not much other flavour and it was super expensive for a terrible experience. I was very disappointed, especially given the other reviews.

Staying in Darling Harbour

Neighbourhood Profile
Darling Harbour
The original docklands of Darling Harbour have been transformed into a tourist mecca with entertainment for the whole family. Cockle Bay Wharf offers dining options from budget to upscale and million dollar views of the harbour. Young crowds gather on weekends for nightlife that ranges from salsa clubs to Dj’s. Families can visit the Chinese Gardens of Friendship or the Sydney Aquarium, one of the largest in the world. The Sydney Maritime Museum and the IMAX theatre are also popular attractions. The Harbourside Shopping Centre is a site unto itself, with hundreds of shops, restaurants and bars. On Saturdays in the summer, the city puts on a spectacular fireworks show along the harbour's shore and there are plenty of other free events during the year - Darling Harbour Fiesta, VIVID’s light installations and the Sydney Festival, just to name a few.
