I tracked down SOR as I'm always on the lookout for the best coffee while exploring a new city. This did not disappoint. Single Origin Roasters is a tiny kiosk in the middle of the Central Business District. Although the storefront is tiny, they had tastefully decorated it with beautiful art work, and set up a couple of nice counters... More

Coffee is particularly good and the food is pretty special too. The bacon roll is amazing. Loads of bacon, great mayo, fried egg. Perfect start to the day.

Good cafe for a small snack with tea or coffee. Best recommendation is the Banana Bread, which was really yummmmy. Special coffee is available as well.

Great coffee, friendly staff and the food menu is good quality but somewhat limited in range.... but it is all about the coffee and these guys really know how to make an excellent coffee.

Breakfast was fresh and tasty. Coffee was excellent, clearly has a following as the line up for the side coffee shop was constant. Easy to get a table and reasonably priced.

Ordered the breakie boxes which were great. Especially loved Monsieur Croque which was toasted sandwiches with ham and cheese!

Only small with limited seating especially on a cold and wet day. I had a macchiato (small dollop of milk) with the single origin of the week and the flavour was superb and they had the temperature right (hot enough). The food, a mother ship bowl, was plenty big enough and very tasty.

One of my go-to places for a quick coffee on work trips if I hop off at Central Station for work; the take-away bar separate to the main shop - in what was probably once the front window of an air-compressor supplier - has an inner-city industrial edginess about it; and a clear following of loyal caffeine addicts lining up... Few places make me impressed when it comes to coffee shops and this seems to have been an extraordinary place. The location is a bit hard to get to from the Sydney CBD area, but worth the visit - took me 30 mins walk from the central CBD area. I think overall the coffee was very good and the staff... More

If you want a healthy brekki and don't want to comprise the flavor . That's the right place The Mothership bow is the best healthy breakfast now I've ever had. Perfect cooked egg ( I'm very picky on eggs) but the eggs are well fried made to order, and clean and well presented) the avo is great and generous Great... More

Description
Hours: Mon-Fri 6:30am-4pm, Sat 7:30am-3pm We are a Sydney-based roaster and have a cafe in Surry Hills that some lovely folks have gone so far as to call 'legendary'. Our coffee is responsibly sourced and for the most part responsibly consumed. We are driven. Which could have something to do with the amount of coffee we consume. We aim to inspire coffee passion and exploration, to raise the bar and have customers who don't mind that we're a touch nuts. Our quality standards are uncompromising. For all our joking around, we take the coffee, food and service seriously.

Staying in Surry Hills

Neighbourhood Profile
Surry Hills
Once regarded as the traditional fashion area, Surry Hills has broadened its appeal. This neighbourhood continues to distinguish itself as a shopping destination, offering the best collection of one-of-a-kind boutiques, designer brands and flagship stores in the city. Today, this area has evolved into a hub of media, design and professional services - a colourful and diverse place equally known for its antique dealers, art galleries, cafes and pubs. Strolling down the street on a Saturday morning, you’ll see a mix of students, artists, hipsters and a few all-nighters from Oxford Street, the “Gay Capital of Sydney”. In this vibrant neighbourhood you will find bohemian chic and modern style co-existing side by side.
