Been a loyal customer since the good old George St days, and when it moved to Lime St, everything tasted the same, but now with the added bonus of a fantastic view of Darling Harbour. I bring overseas and local friends here and we always leave full and happy. Only last week my friend and I tried the $40 set... More

I honestly can't think of a single thing that was wanting at The Malaya. The service was flawless. The food was absolutely delectable. The dining space was impressive (especially if you can wing a window seat). The cocktails were great and the wait time on meals was also very impressive considering how busy it was. It is on the pricey... More

One of my favourite restaurants in Sydney, never disappoints. The restaurant has a great atmosphere and I love watching the action with the open kitchen. The food is amazing and always love the San Choy bow...

The Malaya separates itself with the rest of the restaurants at darling harbour and offers a different culinary treat and palate experience. We ordered the banquet menu for lunch. It came with 5 various dishes with good portion and all of them are full of flavours and nothing to fault on!! It's not pricey at all for what it has... More

It's been a few years since the last visit but wasn't disappointed by the experience. Food and service was up to the usual standard. Had the roti and the beef rendang chased by a Tiger whilst watching the world go by as we sat out on the verandah overlooking Darling Harbour. Not a bad way to spend an afternoon!

Arrived 12.00noon on a Friday, given window seats - despite not having booked. Great views across Cockle Bay to the National Maritime Museum on the other side. Selected a bottle of "Furmint" Austrian white wine which was extremely nice. We were advised that the Duck Perchick would take up to 30 minutes to prepare but the Szechuan Eggplant would be... More

I've been eating at The Malaya for about 15 years and now that I live overseas I make a point of eating here at least once when I visit Sydney (on my latest trip I managed to squeeze in 2 meals here). Their signature king prawn laksa is my absolute favourite dish - the flavours are well balanced and the... More

Visited on a Tuesday night, from the moment we arrived the earth and hospitality was excellent Great selection of food and drinks and as I had already read on trip advisor, house wines were very good All of the dishes were very flavoursome and whilst some of the flavours were not what we were expecting we will certainly return as every... Staying in Darling Harbour

Neighbourhood Profile
Darling Harbour
The original docklands of Darling Harbour have been transformed into a tourist mecca with entertainment for the whole family. Cockle Bay Wharf offers dining options from budget to upscale and million dollar views of the harbour. Young crowds gather on weekends for nightlife that ranges from salsa clubs to Dj’s. Families can visit the Chinese Gardens of Friendship or the Sydney Aquarium, one of the largest in the world. The Sydney Maritime Museum and the IMAX theatre are also popular attractions. The Harbourside Shopping Centre is a site unto itself, with hundreds of shops, restaurants and bars. On Saturdays in the summer, the city puts on a spectacular fireworks show along the harbour's shore and there are plenty of other free events during the year - Darling Harbour Fiesta, VIVID’s light installations and the Sydney Festival, just to name a few.
